about the project
On Halloween night a man opens his door to a teenage girl who is out trick or treating with a card payment machine. In a series of awkward moments he tries to please (whilst following instructions on the screen) and put a smile on the girl's face, who is utterly unimpressed by everything.
Trick or Receipt is a comedy about the ridiculousness of modern gift-giving and graciousness.
Please help me make this short-but-sweet 2-3 minute comedy film. I'm already putting my own money into it, but just want to raise this (in filmmaking terms relatively modest) extra £600 so we can take this project from good to great. Your contribution will help us rent equipment, buy props, feed our cast/crew, submit to festivals and add that little cherry on the top, which will make all the difference.
about the team

Louise Hollamby - Producer
Louise worked as an actor, singer and composer for ten years before moving into writing in 2009. Her first work was an eight episode multigenerational adventure story, 'Sienna Fitch'. She followed this with her first full length screenplay 'Loss And Found' in 2011. She founded Scorched Spoon Productions in 2011 with the intention of utilising the skills of the hugely talented people around her to make high quality British film and television work. She successfully produced the short film, The Bathroom, doing exactly that and continues to work with up-and-coming writers and creatives in the development of new projects and scripts.
Chris Clor - Director of Photography
Chris is best known as a renowned international advertising photographer specialising in conceptual, portrait, product, landscape, video and CGI. He has worked as a visual storyteller for over 30 years and has won numerous awards. As a commercial cinematographer he has worked for many major clients such as Ford and Gillette.
Risks and challenges
The risks with this project are relatively low. The budget is small and we are a group of professionals who have worked together before on more ambitious projects than this. The film will be shot in a day. If the worst happened, we have the expertise to deal with it. For everything else we have insurance. :)
