Asian-Style Pink Sauce, Yum!
This Asian-style Pink Sauce is super popular in all of the Chinese restaurants in Southern Oregon and we want to share it with you!
Thank you so much for viewing our Kickstarter. This is a second Kickstarter campaign. We learned a lot from the first one, namely, how not to pack glass bottles for shipment across the country.
This time we are excited to introduce our version of a sauce known in Southern Oregon as "Pink Sauce". The rumor is that it was invented decades ago in Medford, Oregon by the owners of a Chinese restaurant along with a tempura chicken they called Mar Far. That Chinese restaurant has since closed but the sauce has spread to cover the whole region. People can't get enough of it.
We want to get this sauce and Mar Far chicken into every Chinese restaurant across the country. In order to get started with it, we need to first work with the Food Innovation Center in Portland to make sure how recipe is shelf stable, and then we need to work with our co-packer to make and bottle a big batch, as well as get labels made. That's what we are raising the funds for. We will be releasing a recipe for the Mar Far chicken during the campaign so that you can experiment at home.
Also included in this Kickstarter are the sauces and Chef Mel's famous rub from our first campaign. Below is a bit about them.
Our amazing Liquid Gold sauce started three and a half years ago as a part of an interview for a chef position at a new restaurant. It was paired with some scratch made pulled pork egg rolls. It was so good. Over the years we’ve used it in so many different applications from a puffed pastry called Strike It Rich, to a spicy slaw for fish tacos. Everyone loves it as a dipping and topping sauce. We have customers that dip their fries, egg rolls, pinwheels and country fried bacon in it. Others put it on their pizza. I’ve created a lot of recipes with it too and would love to share them with you. Since we started bottling it a few months ago we have fans glazing hams and salmon with it and others creating salad dressing with it. It is the perfect blend of sweet, tangy and spicy; a true food enhancer.
Jalaberry is our second sauce. It combines jalepenos and a mix of Oregon berries into an amazingly delicious sauce.
Golden Inferno is a super spicy version with peaches and Carolina Reapers infused.
Chef Mel's famous rub works on all kinds of meats. She has perfected the right blend of spices to elevate your next BBQ.
Thank you so much for the support!
Risks and challenges
We have overcome most of our risks and challenges with our first sauces, at least at the initial challenges. There are a lot more as we try to get distribution and get into restaurants and grocery stores we're not yet in.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
