Remember these little stickers? Here they are!

Freeform kiss cut!
Freeform kiss cut!

See how smooth they are. And how crisp the prints looks! And how cool the freeform cutting edges are! And how much fun it is to use them! This is the fifth iteration of the stickers … and this time we really really love them.

Estimate time of arrival

It is hard to predict an ETA. And we think it is not a good idea to predict an ETA and then have to change it again (again). So we have taken the decision to not communicate an estimate time of arrival and to update you frequently on the finishing line. And one thing is sure: we give full power!

Next steps are:

  • Receiving all tiles from our manufacturer to our warehouse
  • Sticker production (the sticker pictures above are prototypes. But the final stickers are produced the same way - only much much more of them.)
  • Boxes (we are testing right now the best boxes to keep all Saga tiles safe while shipping and later when you transport them)
  • Then: finishing, packaging, shipping…

Next Update: News for RPG Rule set

We have great news regarding an alternative RPG ruleset for Saga tiles. Prepare yourself for more great RPG ruleset news next week!

March update: Saga App!

March update will bring light into the Saga App development.

Thanks for the comments clarifying the nature of the stickers, this is basically confirming what i thought, which i didn't put into word too well, and i am happy that these stickers should last my life time! :)

Liking the new cadence of updates. Stickers are looking good; I don't care if they're electrostatic or adhesion, honestly. As long as I can re-use them, I'll be good (me personally, your mileage may vary).

Thanks for the clarification. The stickers appear to better than what I expected at the beginning of the campaign :)

Thanks for the clarification. It is also very nice to see you more active in the comments. Looking forward to the continued communication.

Our stickers are comparable to the stickers you can get for your kids to stick on the inside of a car window. And thanks to the power of adhesion and electrostatic they stick on the window. As said, they produce a vacuum that lets them stick over and over and over....... :-) so all good.

To echo other people's view about the stickers. I think this is news to us that the stickers have changed this drastically. Correct me if I'm wrong but none of the updates addressed this. I think I found all mentions of the stickers in the updates listed below.

      Original campaign:
"Objects printed on adhesion film" & "Thanks to the magic of adhesion and electrostatic, all elements stick to the map and can easily be placed, removed, and reused again and again and again. "

      Production Update Nov 2017:
"We rushed back to the hotel, ripped open the package and... while the lamination worked, it was A) too thin to protect the tile from bending B) doesn't work well for static cling stickers."

      Update #45 Playing with Stickers:
Included images showing art on clear film. Admittedly the update also stated "this is just a material test and playtest."

      Update #59:
"NOW we are finalising work on the packaging and the stickers." & "We will post some photos and more details about the packaging, the stickers and the planned finishing in the next weeks."

      Update #65 (this one):
New images detailing the new versions.

My point in detailing this is that, up until now we have had no indication that the method of adhesion had changed.

The above illustrates that when you say "We never planned to use electrostatic material." there are updates and the original campaign to show otherwise.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still in the boat of looking forward to this and absolutely think its a great idea. I just wanted to point out that the communication is conflicting.

@Saga: in the video from the campaign it says "thanks to the power of adhesion and electrostatic". How now do you turn around and say you never planned on using electrostatic?

Thanks for the quick update, I look forward to more information in the coming weeks and months.

    10. Errisch on

@Saga: Thanks for that clarification on the comments.

For me the stickers did look like the typical paper stickers but if they actually are that durable this is all fine witch me.

Thanks for the update on the update.

    11. Marijn Bierhof on

@Alex: So they are comparable to the stickers you can get for your kids to stick on the inside of a car window? The ones you can peel off and stick back? If so, that is perfect news! This is a great material for such stickers.

Thank you very much for your warm feedback and support.
      We really appreciate.

As for the sticker material. We never planned to use electrostatic material. Electrostatic material is thinner and cheaper than the soft and thicker adhesion material we are using.

First, we designed the stickers as round or rectangular shapes of approximately 1, 2 or 3 by 1, 2 or 3 inches. Printed on transparent adhesive material with white and black color. After several tests, we preferred a freeform design. Using freeform enables us to use white soft adhesion material and only print on it with black color. Doing this the freeform shape supports the shape of each object. But it is much more work, as we have to draw a freeform shape for each of the hundreds of objects. Even though we believe that the freeform shaped sticker is the better product.

The electrostatic material you refer to is not suitable for small objects as the corners tend not to stick and they do not stick so good like the material we are using. That means that if you prepare your tiles and then transport them the electrostatic stickers would start slipping on the tiles and would change their position. The electrostatic material is better on large surfaces to decorate shopping windows, etc.

OUR stickers are extremely durable and REUSABLE. You can use them over, over, over, over, over, over, over, over, over, .... and over ;-) again. And they really stick hundreds and thousands of times. The stickers hold because they are soft and they produce a vacuum on glossy surfaces. Like for example on glass, glassware, glossy laminated surfaces, Saga tiles and they even stick on surfaces like finished wood of a table (like the one table in the update for example) and on semy-glossy materials, too.

The material of our stickers is really pefrect for our Saga.

They could still be electrostatic stickers. In fact, to me, they look like opaque/white vinyl and therefore still possible to be electrostatic. They look too thick to be just sticky paper reusable ones. Waiting for the official line on this....

    15. Errisch on

Unfortunately I'm also not a big fan of the change to adhesive stickers instead of the electrostatic ones. The transparency is kind of sad but for me its not that big of a deal.

But really the adhesive ones i doubt that those will have the lifespan the electrostatic ones would have. Surely they stick way better but I'm almost certein each sticker can be used 3 times until they are not working good anymore. Especially if you put one sticker on another like seen in picture i doubt, that you have been able to seperate them again without damaging at least one.

Still I'm looking forward for the next updates and the end result.

    16. Raynz on

Ya, I'm a bit concerned as well, this was for vinyl clings, not permanent "stickers"... I'm less concerned personally on if they are transparent or not, though that's clearly what was advertised, but if we've gone from reusable vinyl clings to single-use stickers, that's a huge issue for me :(

I'm also surprised the stickers seem to have changed to regular stickers. Are those just prototypes, or have you really changed away from transparent electrostatic stickers?

Are the stickers no longer electrostatic? Are they still reusable? That was a huge draw for me on this KS and is a big change.

    19. Dana Anderson on

Still no ETA? Are you kidding me?
      I 2nd the ... "stickers no longer transparent? O.O"
They look like regular stickers, not like that of the ones shown in the campaign. Do they even work sale.. being able to apply, remove, and reply multiple times by using the "adhesion film"?

Just a quick question: are those glued stickers? Or removable?
