Our brave adventurers followed Sheepy into the Castle keep, finding him just as he leapt through a mysterious portal to another world—another dimension—to discover...

Stretch goals for our new game planning app!
Stretch goals for our new game planning app!

With Saga World Planner you'll be able to:

  • Organize your entire Saga tiles collection
  • Create adventures and wonderful tile maps you can share with others
  • Play on virtual tabletops and in real life with GM tools

Imagine:

  • Planning your next Dwarven Forge megadungeon—and sharing your blueprint so others can build it their own homes
  • Playing on Roll20 with people in another country...but with real PHYSICAL tiles and figures on your real table
  • Designing your own adventures for Hero Quest, Descent, Massive Darkness—or writing D&D and Pathfinder modules—complete with encounter tables and map layouts—and sharing it with the community

Our dream was always two-fold: Saga World Builder physical tiles/objects + Saga World Planner online tools. To bridge the physical and digital worlds. To create the world's first design-and-play toolkit to help you bring your adventures to life on your table and on tables around the world. Thanks to the ASTOUNDING support from 1700+ backers—many of whom have asked for an online planner—we are able to bring this second part of the project much earlier than anticipated. Free early access. Exclusively for all backers. For life.

Next week, we'll post many more details and more surprises! Stay tuned!

another cool idea for the app could be a fog of war type setting, so you could theoretically use the app as the whole board if you wanted to and play online. the simplest way to implement that in my mind would be to use a mask and give the user the ability to paint it on and off. also, it would be really cool to be able to import your own images as tiles or stickers, especially since you could take a pic of your tiles you drew on and import them directly into the app.

Is there any slight possibility that the app is getting ported to ubuntu? I would love that :)

Also: it helps when most of your team are engineers ;)

Good question! After many years of working in the tech and gaming industries (Atari, Sony, etc), our team wanted to build a product that would bridge the digital and physical worlds. Saga was originally designed months ago as a two part system, the app and the tiles. The app has already been in development since the beginning and wont impact our tile production because 1) it is being developed in-house so there is no financial risk 2) the app team is separate from the tile design/production team with a different skillset so there is no timeline risk. TL;DR The tiles come first.

Would like an update to the risks and challenges part as software development is a REALLY different thing compared to what the campaign initially was about.

nice... will it be available in microsoft store? I'm thinking I'd rather have this on my laptop than cluttering up my phone... also, bigger screen.
