About this project
A Hack n Slash RPG inspired by classics such as Zelda.
Ignarus is about a young boy named Elias who finds himself having to learn the truth of reality at a young age.
Jarren, Elias' best friend stops in one morning and convinces him that his little brother is lost, and could only in one place, and that is within the Cursed Forest to the East. The two of them know the dangers of the forest, but Jarren couldn't stand the fact knowing his brother could be in trouble. Jarren heads towards the forest and soon Elias follows behind knowing he can't let his best friend go in alone.
Within the forest Elias will encounter strange monsters, some interesting yet odd characters, and also will be uncovering the disturbing truths about what happens to those who enter these dangerous parts.
All content in the demo is viable for change in the future, especially the map development!
Hello there! My name is Kyle and I am the lead developer of Ignarus. First off, let me tell you have much I appreciate your interest in the project THUS far already, that means so much just that people are actually wanting to be involved a little tiny bit, so thank you!
My goal with Ignarus is to create an adventurous Hack n slash with exploration and a story that will captivate the audience. There will be hidden bosses, Quests that unroll the games story, and also secret weapons and armors to bout.
I aim to use action RPG classics like Zelda A link to the Past in innovative ways to make a new awesome hack n slash game. I am heavily inspired by classic Action RPG's as they were and always will be my favorite games.
I've got to thank my man NovPixel for doing a great job with the sprites he has done for me so far. He has been doing the sprite and animation creating for the game.
With the creation of more sprites, that means more features, which means more:
Having newly created tile sheets will be quite costly in the long run, with these custom sheets we can make the world of Ignarus that much more amazing looking, and memorable.
I've got two awesome artists right now on the team doing bust art and other things such as backgrounds. These people are:
- Ryuichirou - Bust art See their stuff here
- AngelicsMana- Poster Art/Desktop Art See their stuff here
With the help of the supporters, I will be able to acquire more tracks created by the one and only Patrick De Arteago, he is a very savvy musician with one hell of an ear.
Here is an example of his music.
I've got one awesome mapper on the team as of this moment who goes by the name of Matt Beer, he is known in the RPG making industry for his game called "Tobys Island" which is totally worth checking in to.
With the help of the kick Starters backers supporting me, I will be able to achieve Grade "A" quality maps from Matt. :)
You can visit his page here
I'm creating this game out of passion for the project, therefore my own time spent is free. All funds will be going towards things I can't do on my own.
Some money would of course go to taxes, such as processing fees and other production fees.
Any other money that is left over from there will be used for extra things outside the game such as future posters, more music and even possible comic creation!
Q: Okay, so let's get to the point... What IS Ignarus
A:A fantasy action RPG with an edgy story and elements of horror. I'm hoping to keep players on their toes as much as possible whether it is simply exploring for the MANY hidden secrets implemented, doing puzzles, fighting a cool boss, or getting the odd scare out of ya.
Q:Okay....So what is unique about your game?
A: It is a mixture of Action RPG and horror, I find that quite unique.
Q: So, I've noticed you don't have much of a bio for any of your characters, Why?
A: I am going to let the player learn each character on their own, pretty much simple as that.
Q: Is it going to be fairly linear with the story? Or will it have multiple endings?
A: I know it is fairly generic these days to create a game with "multiple paths" to the many different endings, but I feel if you do it just right, you can pull it off. So there will be a "few" different possibilities for endings most likely, yes.
Q: If you could pick one game that was your biggest inspiration for the creation of your game, what would it be?
A: Easy, Zelda a Link to the past.
Q: What is in it for us if we help you with this project?
A: There are a majority of rewards for those who are interested in seeing Ignarus succeed, such as; Posters, Desktop Backgrounds, The full soundtrack of the game, and even helping in designing a character or boss!
And quite possibly so much more!
Thank you for taking the time to read my page, and I hope you are as excited to see Ignarus' release as I am!
If all goes according to plan and everything goes smooth, I estimate a release by January 2018.
Thank you so much for your support and feedback!
Risks and challenges
The one thing that I only concern about is having complete the project on time, I should have no problem in making this project come to life with the help of my hands-on artists and Kickstarter, as I already have a lot of the game planned out.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
