About

We are a first generation Mexican family and it has always been my parents dream to open their own business. My mom is from Guerrero in Mexico and my dad from Mexico City. They have always been great cooks and people have always complemented their sazon. Both of my parents have struggled financially and to help them now that they are getting older, last year my sblings and I helped them open their own restaurant, we all pulled from our savings, credit cards and loans to make this happen. We wanted to give them an unique space that was diferent from all the restaurants in the area. Combining my brothers and my artistic skills and my parents recepies, Sabor de Mi Tierra Mexican Grill was born. The restaurant is full of flavor, authenticity and art. We actually dedicated a space to create a mini gallery so local artists can sell their artwork. We have stayed at 5 stars in yelp since we opened, everyone loves the food and ambiance! Here is the problem, we have no visibility, we are located in a storefront in a residential building and when people drive by, they miss us. There is also no parking. The only people that come to the restaurant are people that find us on yelp or through word of  mouth. Sales have been decreasing lately and we attribute that to visibility. We are really struggling. We recently were presented with the opportunity to relocate across the street to a commercial space next to a gas station with lots of visibility and parking. The landlord is giving us a break with really low rent  for the first year and would like to relocate. We are hopeful that with the authentic tasty food, the art, visibility and parking, the restaurant will thrive. We are asking for your support to help relocate and to do renovations in the new space. We would like to replicate the same theme that we currently have.

Risks and challenges

Our main challenge will be to relocate all equipment and renovate the space on time. We are shooting for Nov 1st as the opening date
