Hello from Munchkin Metropolis! I've been busy creating fun new things and it's time to kick them off! The goal is modest but will be used to purchase wood panels in the size that I need to complete these pieces and add some stock of those panels to the shop. If we reach our first stretch, I'll be able to remodel the shop and open up some space.... but if we reach the second stretch goal, I'll be able to add a second laser and be able to do larger pieces! I'm very excited! Throw me some comments and let me know your thoughts on these models. Thanks!
Spell & Ability Tracker
The spell and ability tracker is just a fun addition to your RPG game nights. With dedicated spaces for your character name and hit points, dedicated space for up to 2 abilities that need to track daily and 9 slots for spells and effects, you will have an easy time keeping track. The board is dry erase so you can use and re-use over and over again. The wheels turn smoothly and indicate the number of rounds remaining in the viewing window.
Oh yeh, did I mention that the back is a blank canvas? So that character you drew up..... yeh, I can probably engrave that. That map of the world or your favorite town, sure, lets put that on there! If you can get me the graphics in lineart form (Think coloring book), then I can engrave your tracker to help you bling out your game!
You can pledge for the Tracker as an add-on for only $30ea. (No extra shipping)
The RPG Box
The RPG box is the perfect item for roleplay gaming enthusiasts. With storage space to hold the core books plus a spell tracker, character portfolio and DM screen all beneath the tray! The removable tray itself comes with compartments to store several decks/types of cards, plus dice, counters, pencils and pens AND a few miniatures. The lid is held in place by 4 strong spring-loaded latches to ensure your items stay where you put them during transit. The lid of the box is felted for use as a dice rolling tray as well! It's easy to remove the books and cards (See pictures). I understand that not everyone will be using the tray to hold cards, so not everyone will need the leather straps installed to help remove those cards. That's why the leather straps will be included in their own little bag. Glue them in if you want to use them, or don't, your choice.
Engrave the lid at no additional charge!
Custom designed boxes and wooden items? Yes, please!
Ok guys and gals, here's the sweet spot. I'm often approached by people asking if I can design and build (Fill in the blank with pretty much anything.... a card holder, a sign, a special box to hold this game or that game, etc...). The answer is always yes, I love designing and building custom items. So, during this campaign, I'm going to offer my services for just that...... a custom item.
Pricing always varies when you are talking about custom items, but I've come up with a system that will ensure you get a decent price and I don't lose money on the deal. You can choose small, medium, large. I'll break this down a bit to help you understand how panels are used when I design and build items.
For any given item, I'll need to use a certain number of panels of wood and those panels are available in different sizes (Larger panels costs more per square inch than smaller panels since they need to be cut from larger trees and are therefore a bit more rare.)
I determine the number and size of the panels needed during the design step of the process. Mostly to ensure there is as little waste as possible, which saves you money on the item. That will give me the cost of materials. After that, I calculate the amount of labor needed to complete the item (this includes hours of physical labor done by me, design time, laser time, etc.) Once I have cost of materials & labor I can estimate the total cost of the piece and arrive at a price for it. I've gotten pretty good at these calculations over the years and using that experience I'm offering the following items based off of what I expect for each tier.
Small - This item will use 12x24x.25 of hardwood maximum and 12x24x.125 of baltic birch. Examples from this size would be Bit Box, Torch, Hearth, Triple King, Standard boxes, etc
Medium - This item will use 24x24x.25 of hardwood maximum and 24x24x.125 of baltic birch. Examples from this size would be the RPG box from this campaign, suitcase sizes, etc
Large - This item will use 36x24x.25 of hardwood maximum and 36x24x.125 of baltic birch. Examples from this size would be my Traveler model.
Hardwoods are normally used for the exterior of your pieces while baltic birch shines as a nice interior.
As always, I own NONE of the graphics used on my pieces....well, except for my logo, I own that. Everything else belongs to or has permission to be used by my clients. Below find some examples of my work.
Custom Collection Storage
This pledge level is for those of you who want something truly unique. Maybe a complete storage system for your games? Maybe a dozen specialized deck boxes engraved for each of your commander decks? Or maybe you have a game that is very special to you and you would like a system designed to house each of the components? Maybe you will have me build you a gaming table for your playgroup....idk and honestly, idc what you have me build. I'm going to have fun regardless! This level is only limited by your imagination and of course, your wallet. The buy-in for this pledge is $500 with shipping to be determined at a later date. We will collaborate and come up with your designs, pricing, timeline, etc... all will be agreed upon before the work will start. This pledge level is basically purchasing me for a while. My skills and experience will have a $0 value, prices for all items will be the standard materials + labor = cost. I'm posting a few of the pieces I've done that began as custom (Some remained custom only by request).
Risks and challenges
I've had several successful campaigns since I started here. I've also had a few that failed to fund so they got cancelled. However, for any campaign that funded, all rewards have shipped and arrived.
I have my supply chain sorted. I build every item myself (At least for now). I pack and ship items everyday.
I've never failed to deliver on my promises and that won't be changing any time soon.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
