So here's the deal. If you know us but at all, you should know by now that one of the things we're not afraid to be is honest. Thus, here we are...telling you, our friends, that WE NEED YOUR HELP. We are raising funds to purchase some very necessary production materials for our Spring 2011 Tour.
If you've been in the Fools' family for even a short time, you know we have walked through some pretty heavy amounts of heartache, though we'll save most of that to unfold in our new music. That will all be a part of the new story. But after two years of turmoil, including a major legal dispute with our former label partner, our bus breaking down in California causing us to literally hitch rides back across the country, battles with cancer within the extended family, and our equipment trailer being stolen, we are more excited than ever to show you guys that we are ready to come back BIGGER than ever.
We're a band, and our name is Rush of Fools.
We hail from Birmingham. Alabama, not England.
Not that there's anything wrong with England...
If you've never met us, then it's nice to meet you.
We've been told before that we sound like a band.
Onto the story...
In one of our new songs, a tune called "Help our Unbelief," we sing the following: "Tragedies are coming... But mercy is here." These few words have really characterized quite well our journey over the past two years. During this time, life has not been fun. It just hasn't. You might have knowledge of some or maybe even all of our story so far, and yeah, we know we could sit here and lie to you guys by acting like we've been super spiritual good guys in the process, but we haven't. We have been shown that much more that we are still the bad guys of the story. Jesus is the hero. The amazing thing for us to look back on now is that in spite of all of this turmoil, God's good grace has continually reminded us to desperately cling to the words found in the James 1:2-3 (from the Bible), which read: "Count it all joy, my brothers, WHEN you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness." (Emphasis ours, and notice, that it read WHEN, not IF.)
From our perspective as a band, we remain both humbled and grateful for God's provision and what He has made the family of Fools to become. You guys are more to us than 'fans' and you guys know that. You're family. We feel like MANY of you have walked with us the past few years. Throughout all the hard times, God has remained so faithful, especially in times when we had such little faith.
This latest chapter of the Rush Of Fools story has been under the sovereign plan of God. It has become increasingly clear to us that He is not done with this music. And we know that it's not us that make this story special. It's not even the music that makes it special. It's the truth. The truth is what is so special. It can and it will deliver broken people like us. The truth makes this story special. The truth of God. Of His Kingdom. Of His glory. It's all about Him, and He likes it that way. In fact, He would have it no other way. It's been the same story unfolding all this time, but it's still unfolding, and you and us get to be apart of it. That's why... The new story is coming.
The future remains exciting to us, to say the least. We appreciate the outpouring of love and support you, our family and friends, who have been with us throughout the last several years. And if we're new friends, we look forward to getting to know you. Please consider being apart of this story. It's going to be a fun ride, for what we hope to be many years to come.
With your prayers and your support, we will soon have the incredible opportunity to hit the road running hard with multiple major tour opportunities in the spring and fall of next year. This will be to further the mission of Rush Of Fools - to watch God let us be a small part in the most beautiful story that's ever been told: the story of Jesus Christ.
We love and appreciate you guys more than you know.
- The Fools
It's almost Christmas, and I would LOVE to give this to a friend or family member as a gift. Can I gift an incentive?
YES! Spectacular idea. If you would like to support the mission of Rush Of Fools but give the reward to someone else as a gift, please go through the normal process of making a donation in your name. Then, when we reach out to you via e-mail to request additional information, please tell us who should receive the reward.
Can I increase my pledge once it has been made?
YES! Once you donate to the campaign, you may want to change your incentive reward to a different one, or simply increase your pledge amount. To do so, please sign in on Kickstarter as usual. On our campaign page, click the blue button that reads "Manage Your Donation." If you click it, you can enter a new amount, or choose a new incentive!
Can we exceed the goal?
YES! Kickstarter will allow us to raise as much money as you are willing to pledge before the deadline. With the additional amount raised, we will simply continue to invest into our live show, making something even more spectacular for our fans in the coming years.
How do we contact you?
So glad you asked! You can contact our management directly at firstname.lastname@example.org, and they will get back to you right away. If you have questions or messages for us, they will make sure we get them!
I'm too excited! How do I get started right now?
