Rock Vibe makes it possible for blind and sighted gamers to play a musical rhythm game on their PCs or Macs. It's one of the first games of its kind, and once the game is complete, several 2-player Rock Vibes will be donated to organizations that work with blind children. Today, Rock Vibe needs your help, so its development can be completed.
How does Rock Vibe work?
Players wear the Rock Vibe wearable containing 4 to 5 vibrating motors. They launch the Rock Vibe software, load a song and level, and then respond to vibrations by pressing keys on the computer keyboard, Rock Band controller, or MIDI controller to make the song play properly. At the end of the song, players receive their scores.

Why is Rock Vibe important?
Most computer games for blind gamers are audio games. Many of them are incredibly simple and don't appeal to sighted gamers. Rock Vibe seeks to close this gap by appealing to both blind and sighted gamers, so they can enjoy playing a computer game together.
How will the money be used?
Kickstarter funds will be used to purchase new tools and components, finish developing the wearable, make Rock Vibe a 2-player game, pay Kickstarter and Amazon payment fees (8-10%), manufacture custom PCBs, travel with the game to game testing sites, fulfill Kickstarter rewards, and give away several Rock Vibes to organizations that work with blind children. Additionally, funds will be used to develop a talking user interface, so gamers who are blind can navigate the screen without a screen reader.
What do backers get?
Rewards include a chance to own Rock Vibe, add a song to the game, a thank you on the website, and more! Please see the Rewards panel to the right for more details.
How do you add a song?
Anyone who pledges $65 or more will be asked to suggest a song, including artist name and track title, once Rock Vibe receives funding. The song can be from any artist you like. If I'm unable to create a level based on your song selection, I'll contact you and ask for another suggestion.
Are YOU in a band?
If you're in a band and own the rights to your music, I'd love to hear from you. I'd like to code up one of your songs (or more), ship that song with Rock Vibe, and provide you with your very own featured artist page on the upcoming Rock Vibe website. You'll also get a thank you for contributing to Rock Vibe. Send me links to your music, and I'll let you know more. Songs will preferably have G/PG-rated language.
Thank you for checking out Rock Vibe and supporting its development! You ROCK! Spread the word!
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to message me via Kickstarter, and I'll get back to you ASAP.
