The Super Fleece is a cozy, modern, and high performance blanket for your bed. It’s designed to feel plush and familiar like your favorite hoodie, with all the performance benefits of technical apparel.
It comes in several beautiful colors, and available exclusively on Kickstarter, is the ability to design a color combination that suits your style.
Size: Available in Twin, Queen, and King Size, and will ship at the beginning of May, 2016.
Traditional comforters are completely out-dated. Most use cotton duvets and down feathers, which aren't washable, and hold odor. A spill usually means a permanent stain, and patterns are generally restricted to basic diamonds and squares.
The Super Fleece is a modern, high performance comforter. It features beautiful organic patterns, and is made with the same materials found in technical Activewear. These materials are specifically designed to keep you dry and comfortable when you're active, and the Super Fleece offers the same benefits when you're sleeping.
The Super Fleece is the ultimate blanket for your bed, wherever your bed may be...
By pledging, you have the ability to customize a color combination that suits your style. Once the campaign is over, we'll collect your color choices in a survey.
Help us reach new eyes by sharing this campaign on social media!
We are now offering matching pillow cases as an add-on to your pledge. When the campaign is over, we'll send each backer a BackerKit survey where you'll be able to add these beautiful pillow cases to your order. The top side of the case is the same DWR knit face that's on your Super Fleece, and features a beautiful pattern that's embossed into the material. The backside is the same plush, antimicrobial material that's on the bottom side of the Super Fleece. Cases come in three different sizes that fit standard pillow dimensions, which you can find at any department store, so you'll be able to stuff them with a pillow that's to your liking.
The Rumpl story originated in the outdoors around a roaring fire. Despite significant improvements in modern textiles over the years, we were unable to find a blanket that rivaled our outdoor gear in terms of performance, warmth, and durability. Even more frustrating was the blanket buying experience - home supply mega-stores with shelves full of boring, repetitive patterns encased in clear, plastic zipper bags. We felt that there was an opportunity to create homewear that was both stylish and high-performance. We tested our first product on Kickstarter and received overwhelming support, so we decided to go all-in and set up shop. We owe our entire existence to the Kickstarter community, and would not be here offering our second product without the support form our amazing customers.
Our second offering, The Super Fleece Blanket, takes all that we've learned from our first product and applies the same rigor and attention to detail for which Rumpl has become known. The Super Fleece is a purpose-driven concept that we hope to bring to life with the support of the Kickstarter community.
We've got a big idea at Rumpl, and it's called Active Homewear™.
When looking at the fashion industry, the last decade has seen an explosion of performance fabrics. From yoga pants, to wicking tops, everyone is beginning to see the benefits of modern textiles for everyday use. Everyone, except the homegoods industry... We believe that the textiles used in your home should meet the same performance standards as those used for active and outdoor pursuits. We've taken material inspiration from major activewear brands and applied that knowledge to the blanket on your bed. The result is Active Homewear, and it's the perfect blend of performance and comfort that you need every single day.
The Rumpl team is made up of a group of designers who spend their free time outside. We draw inspiration from the gear we use in the outdoors that keeps us comfortable doing what we love. Since our first Kickstarter campaign in early 2014 our team has grown to a modest 4 full-timers that share a passion for design, outdoor experiences, and creating great products. Between the team, we've got over 40 years of experience creating high performance consumer goods out of advanced materials. Our operation gets more dialed each week, and we are excited to get our second product in your hands.
Risks and challenges
Since our first Kickstarter campaign almost 2 years ago, Rumpl has grown up a lot. Now, we are a full-fledged brand that operates 365 days a year selling product to customers all over the world. We've got some great experience under our belts on how to manufacture high-quality goods and fulfill lots of orders on time. We've also been blindsided more than once by completely unexpected issues, and always dealt with them in a way that leaves every last customer happy with their purchase and proud to support our company.
In short, we know what we're doing, and you should be very confident that we will deliver what we say we will, when we say we will. And we solemnly swear that should unforeseen issues come up, we will handle them with the utmost transparency and care for you, our backers.
If all goes well during our funding campaign, we'll finish up with a giant heap of preorders for our new products. Of course we're trying our hardest to predict our future demand and plan accordingly, but it's far from an exact science. While this ain't our first Kickstarter rodeo, our forecasting capabilities aren't the same as what you might expect from a big company.
Supply Chain Risk
As Rumpl continues to mature we're getting better and better at managing our supply chain. For example, this year we set up two fully-operating parallel supply chains to shore up our ability to make quality products, at high volumes, on time. We've come a long way and are proud of how much we've improved. But it's safe to say that there is still some risk here. If a container shipment is delayed for 2 weeks in customs or a batch of new material doesn't pass QA testing, our fulfillment schedule—even if padded—can start to slip.
Acts of God
We're based in San Francisco. That means we could have an earthquake. Or we could have a massive spur-of-the-moment parade involving wacky costumes and public nudity. Or, perhaps most unlikely, it rains enough to cause a flood. Whatever happens, we'll get through it together. We promise.
