The goal of this campaign is to fund the hours of work necessary for me to complete a portfolio of 30 images featuring beautiful anthropomorphic ladies of various species. The images will range from classic pinup-style pieces to sexier, more alluring poses, across a whole spectrum of body-types. The images will be sent out in a mailing list throughout the 2016 year, at a rate of 2-3 images per month. At the end of 2016, the images will be compiled into an art book.
I've been doing a male version of the 'Menagerie' mailing list for 5 years successfully now, producing around 25-30 pieces a year for said list, and have published several art books containing the pieces I've produced in that time. My comrades over at Furplanet have pledged their time and experience to create an equally stunning art book for (F) Menagerie, with a full-color cover and at least 50 images within, including female work I've done in previous years.
Let me be clear - the primary purpose of this fundraiser is to cover the hours of work I will need to put into the actual artwork. The art book is a bonus, not a secondary goal that needs to be met in order for it to be produced. My publishers and I have done several art books already together, and the production of the book is guaranteed if the primary goal for this project is met.
I have a lot of experience with long-term projects, mailing lists and image portfolios, but this will be my first all female folio. Let's show some love for the ladies!
Rukis is an anthropomorphic / fantasy illustrator and writer from South Carolina, USA. She has several published comic and novel series, in addition to illustrating for other writers in the anthro fandom, including Kyell Gold and Jim Galford, and the 'ROAR' collection. Her 3-part-series 'Off the Beaten Path' recently won 'Best Novel' with both the Coyotl and Ursa Major Awards in the same year, and her series 'Red Lantern' has spawned an entire universe of novels and short stories, comics and fan works.

5 Full Color Images - $5,000 - REACHED!
As it stands, Menagerie has always been a black and white image list. Once in awhile when I have time, I color some of the images. I'd love to do a few really beautiful full-color images for the (F)Menagerie portfolio, but that will require a lot of extra time. As you can see below though, it can really make an image come to life -
Additional Art! - $6,000 - REACHED!
If we hit this point I'll produce 5 MORE IMAGES for the list, for everyone :) I'll introduce more slots for the higher level tiers so people can choose what those characters will be!
Hardcover Art Books- $7,000 - REACHED!
We've never had the funding to do a hardcover art book before. All of my previous art books have been done in soft cover, as seen below. In order to have hardcovers done, we'd really need the funding upfront. I'd love to see this become possible!
Hardcover art books would be available through Furplanet, and on a limited basis, even for sale at my tables at a few conventions a year.
I'll update the campaign as it goes, and add stretch goals if it seems like we might be getting anywhere close to the funding we'd need for them. Fingers crossed!
Risks and challenges
I'm confident in my ability to finish this project on-time and to fulfill my obligations to backers, based on my years of experience with this exact sort of mailing list / portfolio. If there are any issues they will be minor delays resulting from unexpected problems, like illnesses or injuries. Most of the work for this project will be done by hand with traditional media, but once the images are saved as files I have several backup methods, so I don't anticipate any massive loss there. Once we get into e-mail and printing, there could be the occasional small technical problem. Again though, the most I'd expect in those limited scenarios would be short delays.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
