Woohoo! Just saw that we pased the 400K point. Excuse me while I tell my wife what she needs to put on my birthday list. Artillerary Battle-pods and a Mac-II. :)

Just a quick note. It would be really nice if the sets of launchers were completely separate pieces so that they could be magnetized and have swappable tops.

@Sin: Yeah we've been harassing them. They're at a wedding today, so updates will likely be slow.

      @bar1scorpio
I'd expect those cards to be part of the basic box rather than needing a stretch goal. They don't need an extra mould cut, and they are pretty basic to Kevin's they can do what they do on TV attitude.

Ben however, doesn't ever demonstrate more skill, ability or fortitude than the nameless pilots whose name we don't know. Rick is better at rescuing young women in distress [Something to do with Objectives] and is supposedly a superior pilot, Max is a superior pilot and a better shot, likewise Miryia and Roy is a better shot and possibly a more inspirational leader than a generic VF-1S. Ben isn't special to a degree that calls for different stats.

Kyron's another character like this, should he be in game terms any different from a generic Glaug pilot? Possibly he has to shoot the nearest target on either side or he has an execute a Battlepod to encourage the rest of the squadron ability, but mostly his crazyness was at a level closer to player decisions.

I wouldn't be surprised if Southern Cross units are optimised to do 5 damage and thus 1 shot Regults and the Master's Bioroids have 6 hits.

Invid might go as low as 1 damage in melee for the basic scouts but make up for it with larger unit numbers than the zentraedi. I'd expect the Defender rather than the Tomahawk to be the UEDF's star destroid against Invid.

Expeditionary force Alpha's feel like they should be command point intensive to get the big missile salvos off but otherwise much like VF-1s [Q-R Power Armour ought to be similar.] except again for smaller missiles.

      Hey there Ninja Division,

Just a quick reminder that the Guide on the front page needs to be updated when you have a chance. Always good to make people know what they're getting!

    6. Robotek19 on April 26, 2013

Awesome that there's both heavy and light in the box!

      @ND: FPA next please :-)

    7. bar1scorpio on April 26, 2013

Sudden image idea in my head - iPod poster, but with battlePod wearing earbuds.

Also, if this goes well, I'm wondering how differently Tiroleans (Robotech Masters), Southern Cross, Invid & Mars Base groups will play. Right now the Zentraedi are sticking to their "Glass Cannon" status and are more maneuverable than the Destroids, judging by the demo. But to make this really work, each new generation needs to have pieces that play subtly differently. To make inter-generational fighting more interesting.

    8. bar1scorpio on April 26, 2013

@Adam Canning - Nice to see I'm not the only one who thinks that a "Zentraedi Disguise" Max VF-1A would be an awesome piece.

As for Ben Dixon - any change would likely be not on the model, but on the play card. Note that in the demo, the cards have different stats for the mechs. Those stats likely change if the pilot of a mech is a "Character". A generic Regult will be slightly different than a Regult piloted by Khyron - "Roll to shoot teammates!"

On the new 'Pods - you're likely to be able to augment your existing 'Pods into artillery with the ol' x-acto knife, green stuff & glue. Recall that the attachments for missiles are on the same hardpoint that the rear anti-air lasers. Cut off those, add on missiles, (possibly lose ability mentioned in the demo in the process...)

It is interesting, trying to think who has the overall... "more" on their side. The core Destroids are out, so there's Fastpack & Armored Valykries, the tiny, ineffectual fighters seen in the first few episodes maybe... but the Zentraedi still offer The Nesaudjel-Ger & Quaedluun-Rau power armors, individual foot soldiers armed with Zent Battle Rifles, in both Light & Heavy armor - Breetai with a piece of pipe?

Much improved over the last stretch. These will be much needed.

@ Justin. Ben is pretty much the character who least needs a special model. I'd rather see an SC-27 Star Goose than another generic VF-1A and there are plenty of things to do before something that would just be a moving mission objective. Ghost, Lancer, Dragon, Avenger, VE-1 or VEFR-1, VT-1D, Cats Eye for examples.

Max's VF-1A in a Zentraedi Uniform, now that might be cool. But Ben is a quintessentially generic pilot in a generic valkyrie.

@Eric Of COURSE they can! at the very very least little greenstuff and some glue and you are all set!

    12. Eric Cheong on April 26, 2013

I do hope the spare bits can be used to upgrade generics in the box.

@patrick if there are any hold outs at this point, they are just being obstinate.

    14. Patrick Poe on April 26, 2013

Waiting on the Power Armour as well. You know they could add bonus stretches if a goal is met withing a certain time frame. That would make things more interesting, and could rally some hold outs.

I feel like the Female power armor would be nice to have before they go back and explore the RDF again and the heroes of the RDF. Ben Dixon Model? yes please!

    16. Evil Brak on April 26, 2013

      Female PA first I hope.

When do the super veritechs show up?

Justin Doyle on April 26, 2013

It comes with and upgrade for light and heavy options... does that mean if I had a set of regular battle pods and this set I can use the 2 options i don't upgrade to upgrade two of the generics? Just curious.

    19. Ethan Prosen on April 26, 2013

At 2 per pack... add 3, multiply by left foot, carry the 1...
      I gotta up pledge

    20. Mathew Daley on April 26, 2013

@Ethan, It's two per set (unless a third or fourth are part of one of the stretch goals for later). I'm waiting for the power armor, because you know that will get things to blow up. :-) I know if those are put out, I'll easily be able to get my wife to agree to add those to my pledge (She's a huge fan of Klan Klang).

Nice....By the silhouette I'd say 2 per set.

    22. Mathew Daley on April 26, 2013

Agreed! Of course, as things stand, I'm more interested to get the Backers Goals. Since I had to pull teeth just to be able to get the contribution level, and I'm in process of negotiation with the wife to get the Monster added to it, the current paid for Stretch Goals aren't really encouraging me. It's not affecting my current bundle. Still, the more money this project gets the happier I'll be, because I know that it will ensure that this project gets put out to general market. :-)

    23. Ethan Prosen on April 26, 2013

How many per set? How many of these add-ons do I need???

    24. YourSwordisMine on April 26, 2013

Glad it is one set that can make either. The way the picture looked I was afraid it was just Lights at this point. Being able to make both is great.

    25. Shawn Rowlands on April 26, 2013

Excellent. This kickstarter keeps getting better and better. Very glad to be helping this grow, and I hope we raise enough to add a one or two of these sets to the core box down the track.

    26. Chris Colon on April 26, 2013

so glad there a separate unit and not just a add on.

    27. Skibble on April 26, 2013

      Well that ones done.

      Now Onwards!
