1) Made from premium fabric. We only use the highest quality 3-Ply 100% cotton twill fabric. This is an extremely rare fabric. It's 280 grams and designed to have an amazing soft feel but withstand the toughest wear.
2) Backed by a 25 year guarantee. We're so confident that your Quarter Century Pants will be the most durable pants you've ever had that we are backing them up with a 25 year guarantee.
3) Made in America. The best quality comes when you make things in your own back yard. We only work with production facilities that pay proper attention to fabric, people and processes right here in Los Angeles, CA.
4) Sold wholesale. By offering your pants directly via Kickstarter we are able to cut out the retail channel and offer you a pair of pants that usually would retail for $200 at only $85.
Our journey started almost two years ago when we took a radically new approach of looking at denim. It's the passion for quality clothes that led us on a mission to design the perfect jeans. Now, we know that you might not be able to wear denim everyday so we are doing something similarly radical: a pair of pants that are so well made they will last a quarter century.
We know it sounds crazy but we are all about making the impossible possible. We honor great American craftsmanship and question conventional wisdom to make The Quarter Century Pant.
Help us make a better pair of pants and let's challenge the industry together to make longer lasting clothes. Join us!
In the United States, automotive design reached a turning point in 1924 when the American national automobile market began reaching saturation. To maintain unit sales, General Motors suggested annual model-year design changes to convince car owners that they needed to buy a new replacement each year. The smaller players could not maintain the pace and expense of yearly re-styling. The same now goes for the fashion industry only that they build in a code for the clothes to come apart:
Planned obsolescence or built-in obsolescence in industrial design is a policy of planning or designing a product with an artificially limited useful life, so it will become obsolete, that is, unfashionable or no longer functional after a certain period of time. The rationale behind the strategy is to generate long-term sales volume by reducing the time between repeat purchases (referred to as "shortening the replacement cycle"). ~ Wikipedia
What is 3-Ply twill? A plied yarn is one where multiple strands of yarn — already spun yarn — are put together and twisted in the opposite direction from that in which they were first twisted. A 2-ply yarn has two strands; a 3-Ply yarn has three.
Any time you ply your yarn, you’re making it stronger. This is because twisting adds strength; multiple directions of twist add even more strength. You’re also tucking some of the surface of the yarn inside, away from the elements and wear and tear. Plied yarns will always be stronger and sturdier than singles yarns.
But this is only one reason to ply your yarns. Plying can also even out unevenness. Plying regularizes yarn, and also changes how the yarn behaves, how it feels, and how finished fabrics made from it behave and feel. You will notice that our pants are incredibly soft and durable.

Risks and challenges
Producing anything at high-volume poses a number of problems. With that said we're not starting from square one. In May of 2013, we went on Kickstarter and raised over $100,000 to build the perfect jeans. True, we've never made chinos but we completed all sampling and we're confident to ship a pair of pants that will exceed all your expectations. We believe in transparency and communication, so our backers will be the first to know about any unplanned hurdles or delays.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
