We at RPGS want to use the vast knowledge running through our staff to host our first LARP game! We feel that Vampire: the Masquerade will be the best choice for this annual event. Our event will be held on June 27th at The Hobbyhorse: 811 Dickinson Ave; Greenville, NC, 27834
Don't know what level you want to donate at, yet? No problem! Donate a dollar and you'll keep getting updates on how we are doing. Every dollar helps.
During the game, the players will have the option to ingest beverages in small bottles. If you donate at this level, you can help personalize these by labeling them with their 'donor' and providing some interesting statistics on them. A great place to donate if seeing vampires drink your best friend's "blood" would bring a chuckle or two.
This is the first ticket level. There are 10 tickets for those wanting to be a Fledgling. With this, you get everything above, plus an invite to the event. Fledglings are weak compared with other player characters, and they have very few direct story tie ins, but they will all know unique rumors that may or may not be true. Should your character be killed for any reason, we will provide you with a brand new character to act out with new rumors! This is the perfect ticket for people that just want to get a feel for LARPs for the first time without feeling any pressure, or for those looking to role play and show off their costumes without having to deal with all those meddling vampires trying to off you all the time!
The Neonate have passed beyond the initial trials of being a Vampire and now start to seek their own path. You'll get everything in the first two levels, and a special hand written invitation mailed straight to you, or available for pickup at the event! You'll have the privilege to play a neonate vampire working to make their way up in vampire society. This is the cheapest ticket that lets you make your own character. Pledge early and take advantage of the Early Bird special.
The Ancillae are vampires that have been around the block a few times. While they will begin the game with similar powers to the neonates, though they are older and therefore capable of becoming far more powerful than their younger kin. They also start knowing more than the Neonates. This player character ticket gets a far more elaborate invitation fit for the station that your generation maintains.
The Pretender Elder is the generation that occupies the coveted station above the Ancilla. They are the real movers and shakers in this world of darkness. They are of a fairly rare commodity and the price (and potential power) reflects that. This package gets you the benefits of the first two levels, more power options than the Ancilla, more rumors at the start of the event and a better session with the Court Photographer. We will also provide you with lunch during the break in the LARP where you can meet and mingle with the staff out of character. With this ticket, you will portray the rare and enigmatic Pretender Elders. Again, your power will be similar to the other player characters at first, but none will exceed your potential as you continue through the game.
The couple that LARPs together... well has a fantastic time, if they donated at this level! Not only will you both be at the peak of the vampire pecking order (the Pretender Elders), but you get the Prince's Court Photographer drooling to give them a shoot of the unlifetime! On top of that, we will send both of you those snazzy invitation scrolls and we'll spring for a night in a nearby hotel so the happy couple doesn't have to worry about leaving too late for home!
Information regarding the Archon is kept in the closest confidence by edict of the Ivory Tower. What we can say is that they will be a 7th Generation vampire holding more power than any other player in the game. Our Gamemasters shall work to help make this a unique LARP by creating story tie-ins and events.
For those in the Fledging level, we only require casual wear- jeans and a button or Henley shirt, or a nice top for ladies, or they can wear a casual dress, just nothing that would be too revealing .
The Prince requires more from older vampires. For those in Neonate level and higher, we will require business casual or smart casual. Slacks or Khakis, a button down, nice shoes that go with the outfit. Ladies can wear slacks or a nice skirt, and a nice top. Of course if that isn't going to fit the character they have in mind they can email us beforehand and ask for permission to wear something else.
For those who really want to up the ante, a period costume for whatever type of character would be great. A two hundred year old Irish vampire with suspenders and a newsboy type hat would fit perfectly. Even just period normal business wear is great. A nice evening gown, or a suit. Again if there are questions they can email us. We want to encourage the ladies to wear flats. If they want to wear heels, then they need to be a comfortable pair, because while there are places to sit they'll likely be on their feet a lot. If they want to bring a weapon as part of a costume for photos we will allow that, but after photos are done we will be taking the weapon and storing it in the back and exchanging it for a prop card
The Prince has 'acquired' the services of a local photographer who shall be be available before the event to memorialize any of our players. Each level will be allot a specific amount of the Court Photographer's time and appointments shall be schedule in advance of the LARP.

Risks and challenges
Thankfully, our risks are limited because, frankly, we can pull this off with no additional help! However, having a great LARP and no one to participate would register in the "super lame" range, so we really want to strive to have good caliber people come out and enjoy this awesome event!
Secondly, we are aiming to broadcast all of this online for people around the world to view and participate, so the quality of our equipment becomes a factor. The better equipment we have, the easier time our staff will have streaming the event. We have volunteers that have been professionals in all sorts of fields from management to information technology, so no matter what comes up, we feel confident we can tackle it!
Finally, the weather could always throw us a curve ball. It'll be the end of June, so I doubt we'll be getting any hurricanes or heat waves, but rain is a distinct possibility. We've already put together a rain policy so we can play regardless. Also, we're ready with a weather disaster plan just in case the worst happens so you can rest assured that we can adapt to situation at hand.
