You can't go out into the night unarmed! Get your weapons and tools so you're ready to fight!
This cape is a protective force of dreams keeping Teddy safe from harm. Your owner often holds this in order to calm themselves. The Cape stops you from getting cut, but keep in mind that you'll still get knocked around.
Originating from your owner's weapons collection, this sabre has the quality of inflicting pain, as well as parry attacks. Quick and distracting, it can stop the monsters from making more restless noise. Careful when parrying, as you still create some noise and receive some damage, but you can stun the monsters this way! Along with healing fibers it can be used to provide first aid to heal your own wounds.
A small pouch created by your owner for transporting healing fibers more readily. While using the Healing Sabre, you can heal your wounds from battle by pushing healing fibers into your body. You can replenish your Healing Fibers in different locations and picking them back up once you're wounded.
Part of your owner's tool collection, when combined with the healing sabre, can be used to grapple onto different objects. You can grapple onto anything you like and swing around, but some objects can get pulled down by your movement, so be careful not to make a loud noise. shhh
The sacred weapon your owner used to keep monsters away, and your most important weapon. It can be used to block all attacks, reducing damage considerably, but quite noisy. Its most important ability is to damage the monsters by blinding them into submission!
The creatures of the night are found throughout the house. You have to unlock locations in order to find them! They will periodically make noises that can wake up your owner, so it's your job to stop them.
By bringing up the menu screen, you can see who your target is, use it to prepare yourself for the fight ahead, and track them down by the noises they make.
The house is fairly large, so traversal can take time. Make sure to check for places the monsters can be hiding!
If there are no monsters around or you've defeated one, go back to your owner to comfort them before the next one shows up!
The creatures come from the darkness in order to cause distress, and the best way to get that is to make sounds to distress children as they sleep. Each one having their own preferred noise to make within a dwelling. They will try to escape or push any guardians away to continue making noise.
If they feel like they're in danger, they'll use one of their naturally bladed body parts to try and hurt the guardian instead of pushing. All of their attacks can be blocked with one of your tools.
As alternative ways to fight, a guardian can toss items at the monster to stop it or distract it with the noise it makes, at the cost of making some noise. You can also go into Teddy Mode to trick the monsters, they only attack things that move, but only if they've lost sight of you!
Once you have beaten the monsters, there will be a way to fight them again, in case you want to hone your abilities.
Monster Reveal! The Squeaker (Week 1)
This creature likes to stalk around the house, finding places it can bounce on. Its blade is dull, and its smarts are low. Despite its intent on harming you, it is incapable of such a feat, thus it is harmless to the guardian's body.
As its name suggests, the main noise it makes is to squeak using its strange little body to squeeze air out of it, however this noise tends to only scare the youngest of children, so even as a threat to slumber, it is harmless.
Monster reveal! The Wall Creaker (Week 2)
This creature can often be found in narrow hallways, looking for creaky walls, preferably along with creaky floors. It's of relatively low intelligence, but its imposing size makes up for it. Its massiveness makes it slow to approach, but its enormous calves and forearms give it a way to keep you at bay. Be wary of the blade on its tail, it can do a lot of damage!
It makes noises by using its giant limbs to put weight on creaky planks of wood, it's the source of those random creaks you hear at night! It has a flexible neck to track your movements despite its limited mobility. It is also very sensitive to pain and can get stunned by it easily, use that to your advantage! When it feels very threatened it has a tendency to seek higher ground to stay away from guardians, be careful when this happens to you.
Monster Reveal! The Faucet Dripper (Week 3)
This creature is always in bathrooms or locker rooms, near a sink or faucet of some kind, it's happier when there's more around. It's is decently smart, adaptable, kind of quick and dangerous when close. It's large neck can keep its head safe while also allowing it to hit you harder. Under that plump body it hides long talons, which can rip Teddy apart, so be careful!
The noises it makes are by lifting up the faucets near sinks with its talons, it's what causes those annoying droplet sounds at night in the bathroom! Its long neck is useful to keep its head out of harm's way. It can get depressed fairly easily, so you should try to exploit that aspect! When it feels very threatened it has a tendency to wet its head and use its tentacles to make even more annoying dripping sounds in order to maximize the threat, and to keep its legs extended to make him harder to hit, be quick and relentless when this happens.
Monster Reveal! The Vent Croaker (Week 4)
This entity can be found skulking through the air vents of a household, it enjoys the tight, echo rich spaces. It may not be very smart, but it is fast and highly reactive, so within confined spaces it is a dangerous enemy to make. It has very quick forward burst movement it uses to impale Teddy with, be wary! It can climb vertical walls and uses its tail with an extra eye to keep tabs on its blind spot behind, so it'll be difficult to sneak up on it.
The noises it makes are caused by a strong burst of air it croaks into the air vents, causing that guttural noise you sometimes hear from the vents! It's very hard to sneak up on this creature due to its preferred location, made all the harder by how wary it is of its surroundings. If it sees you, you better be prepared to defend yourself! It gets angry very easily, so you can provoke it into a parry situation to stun it, it might be your best shot. It balloons up when charging an air blast, you can interrupt it, but be careful as it has horns to protect the balloon. When it feels threatened, it will begin extending its range by pulling Teddy in with his long tongue to spear you with its horns.

I wanted to put my game out here on Kickstarter because it helped create some fantastic games with some great support, and hope my game is good enough to deserve the kind of treatment given to other projects.
Regardless of whether or not this Kickstarter is successful, I intend to finish this game by my own means no matter what. But if you'd like to help make that process easier, and provide some active feedback on the discord to make things go a little faster, I'd greatly appreciate any help you can give me!
Most of the budget for this game will go into the Music, 2D art and game engine expenses, so that way it's not so hard to reach! But more than that I just enjoy making games, and want to give you the best possible game I can make!
I'm Jaime Echeverría, a game developer from Santiago, Chile. Since the age of 8 I dreamed of becoming a videogame developer, having given up the idea for over a decade where in the meantime I learned advanced programming, art, writing, design & psychology which I was now able to apply to my games when I came back to it. Now I've been creating games for my own enjoyment for over eight years as a university software student while improving my skills. And since having graduated, I've been working non-stop on my games in order to get the most out of what I've learned over the years.
Silent Knight began nearly three years ago, development going on and off for that long due to university studies, with it having been my passion project since before that point. This is my first time creating a game of this magnitude, and while it's nerve-wracking showing it to everyone, it's something I've wanted to do for a very long time! This game is a love letter to my own toys that kept me comforted on scary nights as a frightened child, and I hope it can help you reconnect and come to terms with that time of your life as it has for me.
Thank you for reading this, and I hope you enjoy my game enough to support it.
Risks and challenges
One of the biggest challenges to this would be that I'm alone on this, with some help from testers and my artists/musicians. That could put a lot of strain on me, which could end up badly if I'm not careful. Due to being a recent graduate, I'm likely going to have a full-time job eventually which may make things more difficult, as well.
Visibility of the project is one of my main concerns, since I'm just a single person, but it is a challenge worth taking. Any bit helps, and forming a community around this game can help a long way towards that, as difficult as it may be.
One of the main risks is deadlines, which may become a problem as I am a bit of a perfectionist. This may push back the deadline a couple of months, but only because I want the absolute best product for you all.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
