"This is the most anarchic fun I’ve had reading a comic book since I Hate Fairyland by Skottie Young and I can’t wait for volume 2."
A MESSAGE FROM ROY SHARPTON -- POSTMASTER GENERAL OF THE INTERGALACTIC POSTAL SERVICE.
When you were growing up did you have a dream? Did you want to be a writer, a musician, President of the United States, an astronaut?
Whatever. Point is, are you living that dream now? No? Working a job but barely making ends meet? Is your white picket fence not quite as sparkly as you once thought it’d be?
That’s the rub, ain’t it? Well, let’s talk about dreams for a second...
Look, there were these two kids who once dreamed of making a comic for adults that was the most balls-to-the-wall kinetic action sardonic sci-if story of all time. A story, as luck would have it, about being master of your own destiny. No joke, the very first drawing of a Space Bastards character happened when one of the writers was only 13 years old! In college, that same kid built spaceship sets in his backyard, and made movies about the Intergalactic Postal Service.
Flash forward ten years, and you have right at your doorstep SPACE BASTARDS VOLUME 1.
This is a massive tome of a book. Just over a foot in height! This is the only way to read SPACE BASTARDS and is exactly how the authors intended — presented in a huge over-sized book so you can pour over every detail!
That’s right. And these guys didn't stop after making one comic. They didn't stop after making the first hardcover. So far, they have produced a year's worth of content (over 500 pages) in collaboration with their artistic heroes, namely:
- Darick Robertson (Transmetropolitan, The Boys, Happy!)
- Simon Bisley (Lobo, Slaine)
- Boo Cook (Elephantmen)
- Colin MacNeil (America, Judge Dredd)
- Clint Langley (ABC Warriors, 2000AD)
And more to come!
Darick Robertson created the visual look and feel of the Space Bastards universe.
In the future, America has taken to the cosmos, but infrastructure is lacking. Getting mail between planets is damn near impossible. SOMEONE (me) came up with the idea that these packages may just make it to their destination if the person delivering them knew their life depended on it.
Welcome to the INTERGALACTIC POSTAL SERVICE. Here, you do not have a boss. You don’t have paperwork. There’s only three rules:
- Whoever delivers the package gets the cash.
- Any postal worker can use any means necessary to steal that package and deliver it themselves.
- The more a package changes hands, the more fees the customer pays. Those fees go to the lucky soul that completes the delivery.
See, this isn’t just a book. It’s a lifelong passion. To take charge of your own destiny. Be your own boss.
Go to SPACEBASTARDS.COM to get an exclusive preview of the comic. Sign up for the newsletter there and you get an automatic profile created on parceltransferred.com— the social media site dedicated to SPACE BASTARDS. There you can leave the life you’re living and become the Space Bastard you always wanted to be. Steal packages. Deliver them. Earn credits. Buy ships and upgrade your arsenal. Play the game while this Kickstarter runs!
In this first volume you are treated to a fully painted story with art by Simon Bisley. By the end of this volume your hair will be blown back.
Look. Listen here. You aren’t just supporting a book launch. You aren’t just getting a new chance in life as a galaxy-faring SPACE BASTARD. You are getting in on the ground floor of the most audacious book series ever launched, with over 4 volumes of content ALREADY COMPLETELY PRODUCED! You heard me right. This is not a book series in development. The writers and artists are working hard right now on potential books for the second year!
We have a saying at the service: "Because we don't have time to fuck around." And neither do you. This is the only opportunity to get this one of a kind volume globally.
So get yourself a copy of SPACE BASTARDS. It ships in time for SHARPTOBERFEST, the annual holiday celebrating the birth of the INTERGALACTIC POSTAL SERVICE. We'd like to celebrate with you.
Cheers, and keep the solar winds backside!

Risks and challenges
We have priced this at a level that is commensurate with break-even for printing. This allows for the costs of a minimum run of 500 copies. Keep in mind that all content for volume 1 not only exists, it has been printed already on a evaluation run in the UK with some of 2000AD’s most diehard fans, and met rave reviews. If we hit our goal then immediately upon completion the print run will be run off and sent for fulfillment. Fulfillment may take 6-8 weeks to complete, meaning shipments will arrive to supporters in September or October.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
