Brass at Gen Con 2018

This update is early because, for a limited time, we can arrange for North American backers the option to pick up your pledge in person at Gen Con! (While time and quantities last). You can request this option here:

Gen Con 2018 Brass Pledge Pickup Requests

REMINDER: Leave space in your luggage when planning to bring these home from Gen Con! Your Deluxe Edition games include Iron Clays, and a bundle of two weighs approximately fifteen pounds. So plan accordingly, especially if you ordered additional Iron Clays!

Martin Wallace will be joining us at booth #531 (Hall J) for two one-hour signing sessions, beginning at 11:30 AM Thursday and 12:30 PM Friday to sign Roxley editions of Brass. (Due to time constraints, Martin is not scheduled to sign other games, and whenever people are waiting in line, we request that any conversation be kept courteously short.)

Pre-order & Signing Q&A

Q. Is there a difference in price to pick up my pledge in person?
A. No, we take care of any additional costs.

Q. Will this result in delays for any customers?
A. No, North American shipments are already timed to arrive as closely as possible to other backers, and this will not change.

Q. What if I sign up for this and can’t make it there?
A. We’ll hold your pledge until end of day Saturday, after which we reserve the right to sell it and ship you one from fulfillment instead. This is to reduce the risk of damage from repacking/reshipping your games two additional times.

Q. Can I have Martin Wallace sign my game, then pick it up later at the booth or have it shipped to me?
A. Unfortunately, no. Martin has a limited amount of time to meet fans in person, and we’d rather not leave anyone stranded in line.

@Bry, first US backers will get their tracking numbers on Wednesday.

@Scott, thank you for the kind words - we really appreciate it :)

@ChibilCk, Gameology is scheduled to have all of these sent by end of day tomorrow.

      ChibilCk on

Hi, i how do i get the tracking code?

    3. Scott Mohnkern

I have to agree with @Josh - Your communication and the tl;dr's have been outstanding. Despite the fact the game is seven months late (based upon the original information), You guys have been stellar about keeping your backer's in the loop, which is unusual.

    4. Bry Hearn on

      Has us shipments started?

    5. Paul Saxberg of Roxley Games Collaborator on

@Stella, they have already begun to go out, but it may take up to two weeks for all backers to get them. You should get yours soon!

    6. Stella Stokes on

I have not received a shipping confirmation code or email.
How soon are tracking codes being sent out?

    7. Paul Saxberg of Roxley Games Collaborator on

@Josh Pierson, you made me spit out my drink there. Thank you very much.

@Joseph, Jedit, HappyShops has already begun shipping orders ahead of the shipping manager's return. Not all of the stock is confirmed as having arrived yet, but they are starting anyways so as to minimize delays.

    8. Jedit on

Anyone had any word from the EU distributor yet?

      Josh Pierson on

I know we haven't received our games yet, but I have to say -- I am furious with Roxley Games. This is the first project I've ever backed on Kickstarter, now what the heck am I supposed to do. Transparent project statuses, proactive communication, value-added stretch goals... where do you guys get off? I'm supposed to back other projects on here now with the incredibly high bar you've set?! In all seriousness, thanks to the entire Roxley team - I'm beyond excited to finally get to play this game from my absolute favorite designer. Wish I could see you guys at GenCon... maybe next year. Cheers.

    10. Joseph Chang on

Given the update on Graphic Novel Adventures, where they said that Happy Shops's shipping manager is on holiday until the 18th, I assume Brass is in a similar position for EU distribution.

    11. T-Bow on

      Great! Thanks Paul.
As many have said already, backing this project has been like an all-inclusive VIP trip to Disneyland.

    12. Paul Saxberg of Roxley Games Collaborator on

@Toron, next week should be okay, you will get tracking data soon that will confirm.

@T-Bow - Checking in with them today, but in this case, no news is good news; no delays have been reported.

    13. T-Bow on

Yep, fulfillment center arrival was expected yesterday and today. Any confirmation?

    14. T-Bow on

If your concern is about the game sitting on your porch for too long, I'm quite sure you can find someone to help you with this situation, provided you give your address.

    15. Toron Games

I am glad to see this will be shipping out soon! Unfortunately, I will be on vacation all next week, I hope it is does not arrive while I am gone and sit on my porch for a week!

    16. James Smith on

      AreTheyThereYet? AreTheyThereYet? AreTheyThereYet?

    17. Paul Saxberg of Roxley Games Collaborator on

@All, requests for Gen Con pickup are now closed, because it's time to finalize backerlists for North American customers to ensure no delays in shipping. We're glad we're going to get to meet so many of you in person!

Q: Can you bring your own Roxley copy (or box cover) of Brass to Gen Con for Martin Wallace to sign?

      A: Absolutely.

Q: If my copy doesn't arrive in time, do I have any options?
A: If you don't want to buy a new copy, we will have Brass postcards you can purchase at the booth that Martin can sign. (These are the same ones already offered in BackerKit, though we need to give pledgers priority, so they will be while supplies last.)

    18. Paul Saxberg of Roxley Games Collaborator on

Apologies if this was not clear Jesse! One reason we did not state this more definitively is that while we expect the great majority of US backers to receive it before Gen Con, we can't actually guarantee that all of you will. There may be some stragglers.

I'll remove your name from the list and put you back on regular fulfillment - that part is no trouble to arrange. Thanks for following up.

    19. Clint Conner

      Thanks, Paul!

      Jesse on

Ok, I'm really confused. I submitted the form to have Gen Con pick-up then I saw later down on the list that U.S. backers will get their copies *before* Gen Con. Can you please remove my name from the Gen Con pick-up list:

Why would I want to wait a longer amount of time to get my game? That should have been more clear in the post.

    21. Paul Saxberg of Roxley Games Collaborator on

@TheHonestYeti, @Lionhunter, thank you so much for your words of support. We've put a lot into this campaign and we're looking forward to the results being on your table SOON!

@Clint, we'll send email confirmations to everybody on the list soon, but in your case I can verify for you already that you are on the list.

    22. TheHonestYeti

@Eric F - I'm banking on it being more the Iron Clays over the cardboard :)

Really excited to see that this should be arriving in the next 2 to 3 weeks. To echo what others have said, the communication on this campaign has been top notch, along with the production quality too.

Home run on all accounts Roxley.

    23. Lionhunter on

I can't wait to get this game. You guys are the most organized kickstarter i have ever done. Communication, timeline, updates, great job guys.

Also i did watch the Dice Tower awards, and congrats on Santorini it is indeed the best two player game. :)

    24. Clint Conner

I signed up to receive at GenCon. Do we get any kind of confirmation that we are definitely on the list?

    25. Eric F on

15 pounds per two pack that’s some heavy cardboard! LOL

    26. Shaun Newman

Very cool! So looking forward to getting this onto the table! Exciting times thanks guys :D

    27. Paul Saxberg of Roxley Games Collaborator on

@Jim, bringing your rulebook or box top will be fine :)

    28. Jim Webb

I live in the Indianapolis area and will be attending GenCon. I have people coming into town and we plan to play before heading to GenCon given your latest update on the timing. Very Very Very excited. Can I bring the Rules Booklets and/or box top of both games for him to sign (instead of bringing in the entire game? I can bring in my Backer number details if needed as well to show I pledged on kickstarter. By the way, did I mention I was excited to get the game (smile)!

    29. Paul Saxberg of Roxley Games Collaborator on

@Rob, there's no shipping refund, technically it costs us considerably more to bring these to conventions as there are handling fees at the loading docks.

If you aren't planning to try to get it signed, it's probably more convenient for most backers to receive it at home.

    30. Brian Lewis

It's more convenient if you wanna get it signed, I suppose? Then you wouldn't have to bring it in and would only need to take it back.

    31. Rob Pearson on

Is there any benefit to picking up at Gencon instead of just letting it ship before GenCon? Shipping refund?

    32. Michael Mahoney on

Cool thanks for the quick reply

    33. Paul Saxberg of Roxley Games Collaborator on

@Michael, we are expecting the majority of US backers to receive their games *before* Gen Con.

    34. Michael Mahoney on

Does this mean that most US backers will probably receive games after Gen Con? Just wondering for logistical reasons .
