What is Base Raiders? Aside from being a Fate powered game, It's also a mashup of dungeon crawls and the superhero genre. Instead of moldy old castles or caves, you’re exploring and looting Dr. Doom’s castle or the Bat Cave. You can buy superpowers in the black market or download spell books from the Internet, even though the government is cracking down on DIY Transhumanism. Do you want to be a hero, a villain or just get rich from looting bases? You can do it all with Base Raiders
If you're new to Base Raiders, back at the NEWCOMER PDF or NEWCOMER PRINT levels to receive the main game as well as every supplement we have released.
About Boiling Point
Abandoned superhero bases are incredibly valuable and dangerous places. They can found anywhere, including the ocean floor. Finding them is only half of the battle though. Sometimes, a group of superpowered scavengers can crack open a base only to find that they’re the only ones who can save the world!
Boiling Point is a new adventure for the Base Raiders role playing game. It mixes investigation, exploration, combat, and social conflicts for a perfect blend of excitement and fun. It can be used as a first time adventure for players new to the system, part of an ongoing campaign, or as a one shot. It contains new enemies, allies, superpowers, loot, and more.
The first part of the adventure is a revised and expanded version of Taskforce Darknet, an adventure previously only available to certain backers of the Base Raiders Kickstarter. Players will investigate a black market dealer, Lukas, who has been selling super soldier drugs acquired from a mysterious base. The cops are onto Lukas; the players need to find out where the base is before he’s caught.
The base was the underwater home of a superhero named Hot Water, who has since disappeared. He left behind a treasure trove of gadgets and a portal to another universe. A race of alien shark warriors has escaped from the portal. So far, they are trapped in the base, but that won’t last long. The base raiders need to stop the aliens before they reach the surface.
About Base Raiders
Superhumans used to keep the world in balance. A small but elite class of heroes and villains each wielded power like modern gods but their greatest legacy was to create a status quo where no one else would get superpowers. They thought it was better to accept a flawed world than try to change things too much for the better.
An extinction-level threat removed every major hero and villain on the planet. Overnight, the status quo was gone. With the heroes and villains gone, some of their secret labs, bases, and lairs were discovered, raided, and invaded. Looters and scavengers plundered them and sold what they found or kept it to empower themselves. Many other abandoned bases still wait to be discovered by the cunning and conquered by the brave. The old elite had decades to hoard treasures and acquire unique artifacts, prizes worth risking death from the traps and guardians left behind.
The first heroes and villains to reappear were not government, corporate or criminally backed soldiers. They were civilians, amateurs in the purest sense of the word. They had no fear of experimenting with the new discoveries, had no hesitation with altering themselves and had no shame in proving that they had learned how to become more than human. Most of all, no one thought these amateurs would share what they had learned but they did. The secrets of gaining superpowers began to spread among the fringes of society.
Base Raiders is a complete Fate role playing game and was funded through Kickstarter in 2012. You can learn more about the game here. Actual plays of the game are available, as are free resources for players.

We are currently working on the second draft of the adventure and have some artwork. By the end of the campaign, we will have a playtest draft in layout for backers to try out. We will give you one month to send in your reports and notes about the adventure. Then we will spend another month revising the final version of the text and preparing it for publication. We should be able to deliver the final PDF by January and the print ready version should be done by February.
All backers will receive their rewards from DrivethruRPG. Backers who choose to receive a print copy will receive a code that will allow them to purchase a copy of Boiling Point for the cost of printing and shipping. This is why the print levels are slightly discounted. Backers who do not wish to use DrivethruRPG can contact us to make alternate arrangements to receive their rewards.
- Release Pariah as free ebook. If you missed it earlier, here's your chance.
- A conversion guide for Boiling Point, with stats for NPCs and traps in Wild Talents, Mutants and Masterminds, and Savage Worlds. This will be released as a free PDF after the final release of Boiling Point.
We will add stats for the missing hero, Hot Water, to Boiling Point. All the heroes and villains have disappeared thanks to the Ragnarok event, but that doesn't rule out time travel, alternate universes, or cosmic forces at work. GMs will have the option of throwing in a very powerful superhuman into the mix.
- A new PDF supplement, Vintage Villainy, will be released and given to every backer at the Deluxe and Newcomer level. Even back in the 1940s, super-genius villains built gadgets to fight heroes and commit crimes. These old machines could defy the laws of physics, but were gradually abandoned as newer and better gadgets replaced them. A few grave robbing villains have rediscovered the old tech and have found it still quite usable. A room-sized machine built with vacuum tubes and gears may seem like scrap for the junkyard, but they can remotely deactivate vehicles, turn its user invisible, or command legions of first generation death bots. The secrets of the Golden Age are yours to exploit!
Stats for two heroic base raiders, Professor White and the Violet Vision, will be added to Boiling Point. Use them as pregenerated player characters, ally NPCs, or rivals.
Bonus PDFs (for Deluxe level backers)
Boost Patches: Most super power sources have dangerous side effects and are permanent. Boost Patches are the exact opposite, instantly providing superpowers for a limited duration without consequence, as long as the user doesn’t activate more than one patch at a time. Used by many of the missing heroes and villains. One patch can turn a normal person into a powerful superhuman, at least for a while. This supplement allows you to add Boost Patches to your game of Base Raiders.

Risks and challenges
The main text of the adventure is done and is already in editing. The artwork is incomplete, but the maps are already mostly done. With that, the core adventure can be completed on schedule, barring any personal emergencies on my part, I do not think there is a risk of this project failing. I have a track record of completing projects and I intend to keep this going.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
