We love watches. We love great design. After successfully launching 2 watch collections on Kickstarter, we’re introducing our latest love.
Classical Rossling & Co. style with a tip of the hat to the 60s retro aesthetic. We created this collection to be:
Versatile: A watch that looks as good paired with a suit as it does peaking out of a plaid shirt. A watch you’ll actually wear, not one that stays in your drawer most of the year.
Stylish: We wanted to create a watch that would keep you looking stylish whether you’re in a business meeting or a weekend getaway. We took our classic design and gave it mid-century flair. Our inspiration, the 60s, was a time where the classics of the 50s were infused with the bold designs of a new era. The collection is our shout-out to that time and the effortless style that it inspires.
Affordable quality: Impeccable taste doesn’t allow for compromises on quality, but it doesn’t have to break the bank. We’ve managed to keep the retail price under $200 and have incredible craftsmanship, quality of materials and a solid warranty to back it up.
We think the secret to the collection’s style is the clean, simple and uncluttered design that creates a strong visual impact and simultaneously keeps the watch versatile.
The collection features 2 different dials: White with blue hands for the signature Rossling & Co. look or sunburst blue with its ever-changing reflections that evoke the 60s vintage aesthetic.
The 60s industrial design influence can be seen throughout the case design. A wide polished bezel paired with a brushed-finish case in silver or rose gold strikes the perfect balance between ruggedness and elegance.
The discrete domed crystal creates ever-so-slight distortions lending the watch more character. A subtle nod to the 60s early lunar spacecrafts.
We’ve carefully selected the perfect material to complement each watch. We opted for beautiful full grain leathers (black or brown) and tweed fabrics (beige, teal or pink), both noble, quality materials that can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.
Through careful engineering and optimization of the design, we were able to achieve a very low profile of 6.8mm (7.5mm with dome) that fits easily under cuffs.
With a case diameter of 36mm, it is ideal for both men and women and keeps a modern feel.
The solid 316L stainless steel construction for the case and caseback ensure the watch will last for decades. Solid 316L stainless steel is a rugged material that will resist the elements and daily wear year after year.
We picked a Swiss Quartz movement for the collection. The Slimtech 1069 Caliber is made by Ronda, a Swiss company founded in 1946 with an excellent reputation for quality and precision manufacturing. The movement requires virtually no maintenance other than a replacement battery every few years. Batteries (model no. 321) are widely available and inexpensive.
After completing the design and finalizing the technical drawings, we worked with our manufacturing partners to create prototypes of the watches. After many tweaks and prototypes, the final result embodies the design we’ve been craving. With two campaigns under our belt, we’ve established great relationships with reliable suppliers. We’ve worked closely with our suppliers to create the watch we want and we can rely on their quality craftsmanship.
The different components of the watch are produced through a variety of processes such as molding, polishing, machining and are then carefully assembled.
After several months, we received our final prototypes. We were blown away. The new Rossling & Co. watches looked great, worked great and felt great on our wrists.
We are now ready to make the new Rossling & Co. watches available to our backers. We have completed the final design and all specifications. We have technical drawings ready. We have been testing all the prototypes and the look, feel and quality of the watches have stood up to every test imaginable. We are more than satisfied with the prototypes and are ready to move onto the production stage.
Our manufacturing partners have confirmed that they are ready to start production as soon as we give them the go-ahead. Once we place the order with our suppliers, they will start the manufacturing and assembly of the different parts of the watch. The completed and assembled watches will then be shipped to us for final inspection and testing.
Our previous Kickstarter projects have taught us a lot about manufacturing and quality control. We have developed a thorough 9-step protocol that covers all functional and cosmetic aspects of the watch, strap and packaging. We will ensure that every single watch leaving our shop is flawless.
To keep the price affordable given the materials and level of craftsmanship we are using, we need to order a minimum of 300 watches, and that's where you come in. By backing our project, you will help us pay for the first production run, and in exchange you will receive a beautiful watch with an impressive spec sheet at a highly discounted price!
By pledging today, you are securing a beautiful Rossling & Co. watch and making sure you receive it as early as possible. You are also locking in the special Kickstarter price.
Our reach only goes so far beyond our networks. Please share our project on Facebook or send a few quick emails to friends and family. It can go a long way to help ensure the success of this campaign!
We hope that you love our watches as much as we do and pledge your support in order to receive one of the very first new Rossling & Co. watches!Thank you so much for being a part of this project!
Hello! We are Nadim, Terry and Karim, entrepreneurs and watch lovers. We started out as two brothers designing our first watch collection in 2013 after we couldn’t find what we wanted on the market. Our first model was a success beyond our expectations on Kickstarter with close to 1,300 backers.
We launched our Automatic collection last fall and the feedback has been amazing with funding closing at over 838%.
As the company has grown, Karim, our third brother has joined us and Rossling & Co is now three brothers strong. Together, we can’t wait to get our third Rossling & Co watch on your wrists.
Risks and challenges
We realize that creating and delivering a product is a complicated process and often comes with unexpected challenges. That is why we have been preparing. We gained tremendous experience through our previous two Rossling & Co. watch projects on Kickstarter in 2013 and 2014.
We have spent the past several months making sure our supply chain is in check. We have well-established relationships with reliable watch manufacturers and strap makers. We have experience and we are prepared to deal with fulfillment of goods. We also have contingency plans for all the steps that are out of our control.
We are going to keep our backers informed during the production process. We'll do this with regular updates and sharing pictures as often as possible, for example when manufacturing of the watch cases is completed, during manufacturing of components, during final assembly, when the packaging is produced, etc…
If somewhere along the way we find that there is a setback in production, or that we cannot make the timeline, we will keep all of our backers informed.
In the end, we want to make Rossling & Co. a long-lasting brand of affordable watches. We will do whatever it takes to fulfill our promises and to deliver watches that will exceed our backers’ expectations!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
