About
About This Project

Three friends opened The Austin Winery with a simple idea: bring winemaking to the urban community & break down the barriers between wine culture and the average person. Now that we're proven ourselves and our concept, we need your help to finish build out of our new winery which will allow us to increase our production & customer space exponentially.

Our focus is on high quality production though sustainable means in an approachable environment. We source our grapes from family-owned vineyards in Texas, California, Oregon, and Washington showcasing the most exceptional varietals from each region. The grapes arrives on stem, crushed, or as must and the entire winemaking process takes place in our winery.
We are 100% self-funded, and sought to prove ourselves and our concept 1st and foremost. We rented a very un-sexy warehouse slip in Industrial East Austin and established ourselves as the first urban winery in Austin.

We've come a long way, doubling our production each year, gaining market presence (local eateries/grocers first then Whole Foods, Central Market) and accolades (Work Horse - Bronze Medal at TexSom 2015, Ross & Cooper named Top Texans Under 30).

We maximized production and customer capacity in our retro-fitted warehouse and made the decision to move/build out a central location with a community of local, like-minded craftsmen at the repurposed industrial development, The Yard. We're currently building out our new winery which will allow us to increase our production (up to 20,000 cases) and customer/event space (up to 150). We're already permitted and mid-way through construction. We even have a deposit down on the steel work for the barrel room. Now, we're asking you to help us finish the build-out.

Your contribution will allow us to produce more wine, host more events, and maintain our independence from big beverage conglomerates and investment firms that would curb our eccentric identity.
Risks and challenges
We're 100% compliant & licensed by Federal, State, & Local governments to operate a winery. We have the building permits, contracts, and all the construction is complete with the exception of the barrel room. We have agreed a fee (and put a downpayment) with the steel contractor. Truly, we've done all the legwork and overcome numerous challenges along the way. There are very few risks or challenges that could arise after the project is funded - those which I can imagine would be protected with legal contacts.
