      A lot of people are requesting translations. This is great! I just realized that I could add captions in multiple languages to the video.
      I would love to do this. It would make it much easier to get enough backers to support a game translation.

      I've created an english captioned template. If anyone has the time to translate this into another language, I will add it to the kickstarter video.

      Let me know if you are interested. :) I'm not sure how much time this would take, but I would be happy to compensate any volunteers with pdfs of any of my other games (Life on Mars is available in German and French!)

      WEBVTT -- English

      00:00:02.479 --> 00:00:05.318
      Magic is dying

      00:00:05.320 --> 00:00:08.769
      And the Magus is dying with it

      00:00:08.830 --> 00:00:10.830
      We travel together

      00:00:10.887 --> 00:00:12.887
      to the realm of Umbra

      00:00:12.935 --> 00:00:15.750
      Where Magic was born

      00:00:18.844 --> 00:00:20.844
      Hello, I'm Ross Cowman

      00:00:20.844 --> 00:00:22.844
      and I'm here yo tell you all about Fall of Magic

      00:00:23.376 --> 00:00:26.800
      Fall of Magic is a game of collaborative storytelling

      00:00:26.800 --> 00:00:30.765
      where we play a group of travelers in the company of the Magus

      00:00:30.803 --> 00:00:35.188
      At the heart of the game is this beautiful silk-screened scroll.

      00:00:35.234 --> 00:00:40.783
      Handmade using natural materials

      00:00:40.850 --> 00:00:43.390
      As our journey progresses the scroll unrolls

      00:00:43.390 --> 00:00:46.488
      to reveal new roads, strange hosts, and fantastic locales

      00:00:46.948 --> 00:00:52.579
      all illustrated by this amazing artist, Doug Keith

      00:00:52.844 --> 00:00:55.320
      Gameplay

      00:00:55.429 --> 00:00:57.429
      Fall of Magic is for 2-4 Players

      00:00:57.430 --> 00:00:59.430
      ages 8 and up

      00:00:59.432 --> 00:01:01.432
      you can play it in a couple of hours

      00:01:01.432 --> 00:01:04.269
      or over the course of several sessions using the same characters

      00:01:04.269 --> 00:01:06.269
      here is how you play

      00:01:06.271 --> 00:01:08.569
      first each player picks a name and a title for their character

      00:01:08.570 --> 00:01:10.570
      we each choose a counter, plus one more counter

      00:01:10.572 --> 00:01:12.850
      to represent the Magus

      00:01:13.347 --> 00:01:17.049
      The Magus starts on Ravenhall which is where our journey begins

      00:01:17.239 --> 00:01:19.239
      Each location has several scenes listed under it

      00:01:19.865 --> 00:01:22.292
      and on your turn, you move your character to one of those Scenes

      00:01:22.384 --> 00:01:24.686
      and describe it from the perspective of your character

      00:01:25.227 --> 00:01:27.227
      you can tell us what it looks like

      00:01:27.227 --> 00:01:29.227
      tell us what is going on right now, what you're doing there

      00:01:30.028 --> 00:01:32.834
      Underneath the scene is the Story Prompt, and when you're ready,

      00:01:32.837 --> 00:01:35.478
      you're going to have to describe that before you're turn is over

      00:01:35.828 --> 00:01:38.115
      things like "Your face in the river"

      00:01:38.120 --> 00:01:40.120
      "The last time you saw real magic"

      00:01:40.120 --> 00:01:42.120
      or maybe a Peril you must face.

      00:01:42.121 --> 00:01:44.164
      how you describe this is up to you

      00:01:44.165 --> 00:01:46.165
      You might tell us what your character is thinking

      00:01:46.277 --> 00:01:48.277
      play out a conversation with another character

      00:01:48.289 --> 00:01:50.289
      or narrate a little scene like in a book or movie

      00:01:50.290 --> 00:01:52.891
      the character of the Magus is shared between us

      00:01:52.929 --> 00:01:56.225
      and once we've each had a turn you may choose to play as the Magus

      00:01:56.245 --> 00:01:58.245
      advancing us further down the road

      00:01:58.281 --> 00:02:01.358
      the Barley Lord has said, "You shall not enter"

      00:02:01.906 --> 00:02:03.906
      and the Magus says, "Very Well."

      00:02:03.906 --> 00:02:06.319
      and we retreat back up the road a bit

      00:02:06.688 --> 00:02:08.768
      and for the first time on our journey

      00:02:08.997 --> 00:02:15.248
      he does something more than just a mere trick

      00:02:17.061 --> 00:02:19.061
      Fall of Magic does a great job

      00:02:19.062 --> 00:02:21.062
      of evoking the feel of a fantasy journey

      00:02:21.062 --> 00:02:23.830
      without directly relying on any of the clichés or tropes

      00:02:24.139 --> 00:02:26.377
      so each story is going to be your own

      00:02:26.381 --> 00:02:28.419
      and no two games are ever going to be alike

      00:02:28.420 --> 00:02:31.079
      The game has gone through two years of development and play testing

      00:02:31.080 --> 00:02:33.105
      and already gotten some great feedback from the gaming community

      00:02:33.117 --> 00:02:35.638
      and if this Kickstarter funds,

      00:02:35.639 --> 00:02:40.840
      I’ll be able share this dream version of Fall of Magic with you.

      00:02:43.941 --> 00:02:45.941
      thank you so much for watching my video

      00:02:45.942 --> 00:02:48.942
      if you've got any questions, go ahead and ask me

      00:02:48.943 --> 00:02:51.001
      and I can answer in the comments below

      00:02:51.254 --> 00:02:53.254
      thanks a lot

      00:02:53.256 --> 00:02:56.401
      bye

      Chinese please! I'm sure we could track down some folks to make it happen (I volunteer to help). The title could be something like 魔法之终.

      What a good idea, printing other language editions.

      Either US or UK English for me.

      I only kicked for one copy, otherwise I'd put in a vote for Esperanto. It would make a great learning and practice tool.
