My third full-length album, "The Little Wren," is fully recorded, mixed and ready to be released. The dream is to make "The Little Wren" my first vinyl release!
The songs on "The Little Wren" speak of love and betrayal, joy and secrecy, parents and children and the birds of Macbeth. The album features performances by many delicious musicians, including my regular collaborators as well as several special guests.
I'm a singer-songwriter who lives in Brooklyn, NY. I create music that has been described as literary folk rock. My work has drawn on mythology including the Old Testament, Shakespeare, and the stark landscapes from where I was raised in western Nebraska.
I now inhabit a different landscape, including a Brooklyn apartment whose walls are practically paved by thousands of vinyl records. I'd be honored to add my own work to this collection of artifacts as I release these songs so that everyone gets to listen to them!
The songwriting, arranging, performing, recording, and mixing have already been finished. Your contributions will make possible the the printing of the records and covers.
Risks and challenges
Life in all its complicated glory has already challenged the timeline of this release, as it was actually recorded several years ago. Waiting to put out these songs has been hard because I knew that the album was really strong, but coming together with all of you to realize this release is a source of joy and celebration.
Speaking of celebration, one current challenge is that during two weeks of this campaign, my main collaborator in music and life, Bob Bannister, and I will be on our honeymoon! I'm a little nervous we won't be able to promote the campaign as thoroughly as we should; I am hoping all of you can help us make sure the project succeeds by sharing the link a couple extra times!
At the conclusion of the campaign, the process should be pretty simple. I have a printing company in mind, and I already have the image I'd like to use for the cover. While I'd be unwise to rule out any unexpected challenges, I'd like to believe the tough and tricky bits of this project are behind us, and that the printing and release process should be straightforward and smooth.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
