Stretch Goal Achieved!
Everyone at the $25 tier and up gets a hardcover book!
Tiny Pink Robots started in January of 2011 as a challenge to myself to produce a strip of comics every day for one year. My subject would be the more humorous aspects of my own life, or at least it started from there and grew to include the figments of my imagination. It would be a sort of Calvin and Hobbes of daily autobiographical webcomics, with kitties, husbands, mouse gods, racist birds, poop jokes, toe-voyeurism, turkey binges, dance parties, and of course, the robots!
Tiny Pink Robots, a name borrowed from a Flaming Lips album, launched as a webcomic at tinypinkrobots.com, posting a new page every day, with the goal that it wouldn't miss a single day until the end of the year. It was a long uphill climb, but I was determined to prove to myself that I could get it done!
The strip is an honest if meandering journal of a weird woman, my confessions, musings, and bizarre daydreams that makes people shout with relief "I do that too!"
On December 31, 2011, I completed my goal of a-strip-a-day, and along the way the comic gathered fans who connected to these everyday adventures, who encouraged me not just with words but with their dedication to the strip to meet the challenge I'd set out, and pushed me to go beyond the first year.
With the first-year challenge met, the next step is to collect those strips in a printed compilation, one that old fans and new readers can curl up in bed with, to laugh and let them know they're not alone in being slightly and unashamedly weird.
I've launched this campaign to raise funds to print the Tiny Pink Robots Volume 1 soft-cover book that will collect the first 365 strips, including a half-dozen coloured double-length strips, along with behind-the-scenes commentary from me and some fun new print-exclusive material such as a "flip book" in the outer margin, and more.
Limited-run Premium Hardcover Option!
Everyone at the $25 tier and up gets a hardcover book! Hardcovers cost the big bucks, and I set up the funding pretty tight (those of you who know me in person can attest to my thriftiness), but if we get to $3000 we can do it for backers at the $25 tier and up!
Everyone who orders a book will get an automatic hardcover upgrade! YES! At this funding level all Kickstarter backers who order the book will have the option of upgrading to the limited-run hardcover. If you prefer paperback, that option will remain available.
Many of the Rewards involve custom art. Please check out http://rori.deviantart.com/ for a good overview of my stylistic range. Backers can choose the subject and style for all art rewards (as long as I don't find it morally offensive, which is highly unlikely). You can also ask me to choose, which means you'll probably get a beautiful lady face.
All books will be signed by moi and will include an interior sketch. If you want the book plain or as a gift, just send me a note.

Risks and challenges
Since the material involved with this project have already been created and the components are very straightforward, the risks associated with it are very low. I have a background in print production and mailable materials, as well as experience managing projects involving textile production and distribution, so I feel confident going into this that the project will be completed without difficulty.
Should I encounter unforeseen problems, I will do everything in my power to make sure all shipments associated with this Kickstarter are properly fulfilled. The last thing I would want is to disappoint my backers. Should any delays arise, I will notify my backers promptly, and work to make any such delays as short as possible.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
