Two friends search for the urban legend known as "Black Dog" in the warehouses of Los Angeles.
Welcome to the Kickstarter home to fund the Short Film Black Dog! I was inspired by a legend I heard growing up in Richmond, Virginia of a stray dog that could not be caught. The film Black Dog is about two young men trying to capture the elusive creature and in the process discover what it means to believe in each other.
The movie is being made independently - but not alone. The project is in the more than capable hands of film and television producers Dana Merwin and Sam Baker. Executive Producers Kevin Abrams and Patrick Weir and their company Ketchum Labs have pledged support through production services, equipment, and editorial resources. And my good friends at the Emmy award winning company, SNAPSOUND, have signed on to do the sound design.
But only with your support can we make this film! The money raised by this campaign is only a portion of what is needed. In fact, $6000 is the minimum amount we need to get this production moving as we hope to not only meet our goal but surpass it to enhance the resources for Black Dog.
With your help, we plan to shoot the film in September 2012. Casting and location scouting have already begun. In fact, you can keep tabs on the progress of the production, view my previous short films and see pictures of the rewards you’ll receive for contributing to the film at my website. http://romalejandro.com
Films are a collaboration of dozens of artisans and craftsmen doing their part. But even though there are a lot of people giving their time, energy, and resources to this project, we can't do it without you and your donation! So please, join the hunt for Black Dog and give today.
