Over the years we have seen a resurgence of non-electronic gaming thanks to many contributing factors, including Geek and Sundry’s Table Top Gaming episodes with Wil Weaton and Felicia Day. We have seen more commercials from toy and game companies bringing back family game nights. Schools are bringing games into the classroom as part of their curriculum. We see more gaming with the gamer enthusiasts. Many conventions now include a gaming schedule as part of what they offer to participants. Heck, we see more conventions that focus on gaming and more gaming clubs. Just check out all the YouTube videos and podcasts that focus on the gaming industry. But you know this already.
It’s time to do something awesome right here in Coppell. With all the support that we have already, even before we have started fund raising, we know that this will be very successful. We have reached out to people we know that have made incredible impacts to the gaming community and continue to do so. From making award winning games, to bringing communities together to even changing the way the gaming industry to what it is now to inspiring the youth to do great things to (we could go on). These are positive impacts to all avenues of life that gaming has brought and I would like to share this with the local community. I am still planning TABLE out with better details, but I have confirmation from well known game developers, local businesses and more. You will see their videos as part of the updating on Kickstarter. Plus the support of many volunteers, Coppell Chamber of Commerce, other convention organizers. We honestly have no idea how big this will be. We had planned for 250, but now with the guests and all the supporters that are on board, I know that number will be closer to 1000.
Even with volunteers, events like this need money and lots of planning to be successful. We have some awesome Kickstarter tiers that will help us fund this event. It will cover things like guest appearances, travel costs, advertising, site costs, office supplies and other things that events need.
As we meet our fund raising goals, I hope to add more surprises, more events and more SWAG to make this an event that everyone will remember!
Roll2Play is hosting this event. At Roll2Play, we are not just a retail store, we are building a community. With tables that are free to use and events scheduled for every night of the week, we are a place you can bring your friends and your family. Risks and challenges
The risk is that we won’t meet our goal. No one loses money. We really appreciate the support you've given us. We learned a lot and had fun. I hope you did too. If we find that we still have a lot of interest and people asking us to continue, we may do just that without the Kickstarter crowd sourcing and step up our promoting in the community. See you at the store and game on!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
