Rogers Park is the most diverse community in the City of Chicago. On every block there are different languages, dialects spoken, various religious beliefs and a vast array of lifestyles. Many of our greatest tastes of diversity can be experienced through our restaurants and local businesses.
Curated by World Business Chicago's SEED Chicago program, and approved by renowned food critics Zagat...
The Taste of Rogers Park is planned to be hosted at the Artists of the Wall area of Loyola Beach Park in August 2014 and feature 20 restaurants, 40 businesses and a Main Stage in the lakefront breeze!

Creating the Taste of Rogers Park
Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce events coordinator, Mark Finley came up with this great idea three years ago, to have a Taste of Rogers Park. The initial idea was to bring people from all over the United States to show them our beaches, art district, the eclectic small businesses, and the cultural diversity the perseveres throughout our community day in and day out.
Since the ideas incubation, the board decided that the Taste of Rogers Park should be a benefit to our community, by our community.
As a result, the Taste of Rogers Park will host mostly local musicians and businesses.
Businesses and organizations that work in Rogers Park will have priority. Non-Rogers Park businesses will be very limited, and only invited if Rogers Park business sponsorship is not full.

We are hopeful that local musicians will come out of the wood work and play their songs on our stage, and that local organizations will help by face-painting, doing arts and crafts and other fun items for children.
Musicians will get an hour on stage with half hour transitions between where Platinum sponsors will have the opportunity to speak to the crowd!
Tables for the event
The tables will start selling in February of 2014. Chamber members and Taste of Rogers Park sponsors will receive a $100.00 discount on their table. The funding for tables will go towards the amazing musicians who will be performing on stage and selling their music throughout the day.
There will be forty tables in total at our first Taste of Rogers Park:
Twenty Restaurants $400.00 for a table, plus insurance
Ten For-Profits $300.00 for a table, plus insurance
Ten Not-For-Profits $200.00 for a table, plus insurance
For those who want a table, we highly recommend going to Insurance Brokers INC, (on Rogers Avenue), a Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce member, and getting a quote.

Risks and challenges
The biggest risk and challenge involved is not gaining approval for the Taste of Rogers Park to be hosted at Loyola Park. If that occurs, we plan on working with one of the other parks and their advisory councils to relocate the event. It will still happen.
The second risk is getting appropriate security from the Chicago Police Department, however we have already spoken with the appropriate CAPS beat facilitators, and ensured that once we have the event approved and located that they will check the perimeter and event itself to ensure the safety and security of the tables, residents, musicians, volunteers, and others working on this event.
The third risk is funding. We need $10,000 to launch the Taste of Rogers Park, and without that funding, we may have to utilize other sources of funding, or the event may be postponed to another year.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
