I had a chance to sit down with the creator and see and play the game and all the components. The quality is great and well worth the price.
My daughter and I really enjoyed it and we cannot wait for our sets.
I would much rather a play mat than a regular board. After awhile boards start to look ragged but mats just seem to last and last.

@Alberto - Thanks for your suggestion! The rubber mat we've chosen has a much longer life and allows the game to be much more portable. Over the past few years, we have made prototypes out of different materials and the play mat holds up really well. After several hundred playtests, the original play mats we had made are still full color with no signs of significant wear.
We did consider having a lower reward level on Kickstarter with a cheaper material, but when trying to play a game with two different materials it took away from the game experience. At each playtest, we asked players if they had a cheaper option (not a play mat), which would they choose. The answer was unanimous in favor of the play mats. The quality of the mat was well worth it in the eyes of players that have been able to have a direct interaction with our prototype product.
Let us know if you have any more questions, and thank you for looking at our project!

      Thanks for your explanation.
I can understand a rubber mat is more expensive to produce, but why really not provide just a nice, regular board? You could be supplying the game for 30$, with the rubber mat as an optional add-on.

@Alberto - Thank you so much for your interest in our game! We would be happy to help answer your questions. =)
We will be updating our description and video to help others see the quality of the product, and a break down of our budget and pricing.
The game components are actually a high quality printed rubber play mat, similar to what you would see Magic: The Gathering players using for their games. The game not only includes the flexible mat and printed card sets, but it also includes all the dice and counters required for the faction.
We would love to invite you back to the page after our next update, and give us a chance to impress.
Thank you so much for your comment, and please feel free to send us a message on Kickstarter, or send an email to if you have more questions.

      Have a great day!

Interesting idea, but there is something I don't quite understand.
For 60$ I get 2 pieces of cardboard, a few cards and a few dice?
It would be great to see a breakdown of your production cost because something doesn't add up here.
