Congrats on the successful campaign and on raising more than 50k!
I know the book is going to be awesome and I'm really looking forward to the postcards. Thank you for all the work you've put into this!
So glad I found this campaign by accident on a tumblr post! Congratulations on a successful campaign and push goals! I'm excited to be a part of this and cant wait to get my copy!
Congrats on a successful campaign!
Wish I could do that, but the tier I'm on is good enough for me. If my favorites didn't make the book, then I'll just have to read them on your site.
Hi again Chryssta! Yeah, it's wonderful to have everything lined up to fulfill so efficiently!
The closest thing to prints are the monthly postcard stories, which are available at the $75 tier and as add-ons. I mail you one per month for a year, and they're all totally new material. I save my best stories for these! They're 4" x 6".
I'm still blown away by the concept of getting the book almost as soon as this completes...
Wish there were prints or something that I could add on. Not the canvases, though the one in the update looked nice. Just something simple I can put a frame around, maybe a 7" x 5" print?
Alternative is buying a printer, getting some matte photo paper, and print out the panels I really like.
@Firezon: Yep, that's correct!
Hello there! I just wanted to double check that I could add on a second book by adding $25 to my pledge. This would be an amazing Christmas gift!
@Bonnie Large: Yes, absolutely! It would be my pleasure to. Could I ask you to message me the details?
@M. J. Sams-Barnes: Sorry, I missed seeing this earlier! Yes, you'll be able to set up a subscription after the campaign.
This is intended to be a birthday gift for my daughter. Would it be possible to have the signed book and postcards from the future addressed to her?
I would love the 12 post cards delivered monthly but am unable to purchase that pledge currently due to finances. Will the postcards be available after for a separate purchase? I desperately want them to complete the set. I can’t wait!
That's kinda cool. I love when there's a quick turn around, and that means there'll be a book in the mail soon. ^_^
@Chryssta: It's just that close to being ready! All guest stories except for one are currently in.
The final book is with the proofreaders as we speak. One wave of edits will be locked in on Monday and the final version will be exported Wednesday.
Because all of the printing stretch goals have been unlocked, we can actually send the book to print before the campaign is over. The printer is local to me here Toronto and the turnaround time is very quick, so I will probably have copies by the end of August.
It just occurred to me that the book is slated for shipment next month (September). Do you already have them printed? Or are they just that close to ready for printing?
@Mathieu: Thanks so much! (If you cave in and end up binge-reading, rest easy. 20 of the stories in the book are brand-new anyway, so there will still be something there you've never seen before!)
Backed and can't wait to hold the book in my hands. I try to hold myself from binge reading the website, I want to be surprised when I read them. That being said, If I Ever Get Off This Island is the most beautiful thing I've read in a long time.
@Pour le magazine: <3
@Chryssta: Thanks so much for the kind words! I use royalty-free photos for prompts for a lot of my stories and I have found Unsplash.com to be an incredible resource for this! If you use it, I strongly encourage you to credit the photographers as much as possible.
One of the new stretch goals, if we pass the current set, will be hosting monthly story prompts and writing contests with prizes and online publication for the winners.
I have a plan for how to include the fading memories story in print, but I think I will save it for a future book.

Where do you get your 'postcard' backgrounds?
I love your page and have been reading it for awhile now. I'm part of a writer's club in my area, and that's how I found your site. It has good ideas for writing prompts, not that they've been used as such yet.
Kinda wish there were a way you could include the Fading Memories one in the book somehow.
@Jordin & Ali: Add-ons have finally been set up! Just click "Manage My Pledge" and add $50 for a full-year subscription (including shipping to all regions).
@Par & Jennifer: Thanks so much! :D
@Charles: Yep, I was just in the process of closing that tier down and opening a version that way properly labeled. You should be good to go now!
I was in the process of backing to get the signed postcards each month but I guess they capped out before it processed. Backed for a dollar in hopes you may open more of those up.
It seems that I too am most interested in potentially adding on the postcards to my pledge depending of course on a number of factors. But I'm excited for the book regardless! :)
Is there a way to get the Half’s-Cat level and the level with the postcards? I’d really, really love both please.
A few months ago I commented to the friend who originally brought The Shortest Story to my attention that if ever there would be a book released of it, I would *have* to buy it. So backing this as my first ever backed Kickstarter project really was a no-brainer. Looking forward to getting this as my early birthday present! ^_^
Congrats- it looks like this just got funded~ Backed this yesterday because I looked at the example stories and they made me Feels Things so I had to. Looking forward to the book~
@Chris For sure! I will try to get this set up soon!
@ Andrew, Claudia, and Richard: Thank you SO MUCH for believing in this project. I'm still learning how to describe it to people, and that has gotten so much easier seeing how much people care about it.
If I backed at a tier that doesn't include the post-cards from the future (like say, the half-cat level pledge that I backed), what is the possibility that such a thing might be an add-on that I can get those too?
Extremely excited to see this in print! Congrats!
I seriously love the series of shortest stories and can hardly wait to add this book to my collection. So happy to be able to support another of your projects.
Insta-back. Keep up the amazing work Peter!
