The concept for this project came about when David was looking for a nice set of classic paperbacks. Unfortunately, reprints of classic books are dominated by large companies that pump out cheap paperback versions with bland covers. The limited options available led him to start this project. Your pledge will help us do justice to these classics by giving them a new, modern look.
For every $1,500 pledged above our goal, we will unlock one additional book and make it available as a backer reward.
As stretch goals continue to be reached books will be unlocked in the following order:
- The Three Musketeers
- Peter Pan
- Pride and Prejudice
- The Jungle Book
- The Illiad
- Gulliver's Travels
- A Tale of Two Cities
- Les Miserables
- Robinson Crusoe
- The Adventures of Hucklberry Finn
- The Secret Garden
- A Christmas Carol
- Wuthering Heights
- Jane Eyre
- Tarzan of the Apes
- The Hunchback of Notre Dame
- War and Peace
- White Fang
- Anna Karenina
- The Adventures of Tom Sawyer
- Great Expectations
Concept Sketches of Unlocked Books
Please note that all text errors or omissions will be corrected in the final products. These are concept sketches.
The books will be printed in trade paperback size measuring 5.5 by 8.5 inches with perfect bound spines. The covers are matte to give them a great aesthetic look and feel substantial to the touch.
Designed for easy reading, the pages are cream colored and feature a rich dark black text in Georgia font.
All of our backers, at every level, will get digital copies of all the books in .epub format.
The posters feature the front cover of each book and are printed on 12pt uncoated stock paper measuring 11 by 17 inches.

Important message for backers in the European Union
We have identified a possible copyright issue that applies to delivering H.G. Wells works to the European Union. We will likely not be able to resolve this issue before the end of the campaign period. If we are unable to find a solution before shipping, we will provide EU backers with some options: choose from our other thirteen books or posters in place of H.G. Wells books or ship them to a different address not located in the EU. We will keep all our backers updated with our progress on the issue and thank you for your understanding and support. If you have any questions, please send a message and we will respond as soon as we can.
Risks and challenges
Risks that could delay our estimated shipping times include delays from the printer and/or additional time needed to create cover art for books unlocked through stretch goals. We have already done most of the hard work with the first 5 books. We have our process streamlined and don't see any major obstacles going forward.
We will keep our backers updated in the event of any delays or unforeseen issues.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
