I first visited Walt Disney World in 1996 and I was hooked, to this day the Disney Parks have continued to be a source of inspiration for me as a designer.
For my latest project, I looked back at EPCOT that first year I visited and created three designs commemorating experiences I loved which have now become extinct.
The first design pays tribute to the iconic Innoventions neon sign. Seeing the sign as you rounded Spaceship Earth always got me excited about the cool new technology I could try out inside.
The Tower of Life once stood at the entrance to the Wonders of Life, the 75 foot tall DNA strand reflected the pavilion's health and biology focus.
The Dreamcatcher was found inside the legendary Journey Into Imagination - this steampunk-style airship was piloted by the Dreamfinder and would collect sparks of inspiration.
Lastly is an Intercolony Shuttle from Horizons, seen in the 'Brava Centauri' space colony scene. It could also be experienced first hand if you selected the 'Space' ending.
The reason I'm using Kickstarter for the project is because pins, especially a set of four, would be too expensive for me to make alone, but with your help these can become a reality!
In addition to the pins, I'm also offering stickers for people who'd like to support the project for a lower pledge.
Risks and challenges
All the artwork files have been created, and the pin manufacturers briefed, so if the money is raised this will be a pretty straightforward project.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
