Hi! We are a band called :::alter egos:::. We like you. Why? Because you're reading this! So you're already pretty awesome. It's obvious.
We're based in Montreal, Quebec, in the great land known as Canada, though Rob (guitar/vocals) is actually from the States and Amy (vocals) is from out West in Alberta. We formed because we liked hanging out with each other and found that we loved making music together as well.
After Rob came home from Cape Verde, West Africa with a laptop full of demos, we booked some studio time in February 2011. As a result, we soon put out a 9-song EP called Free States, released on bandcamp.com. (more below images)
But now we feel the need to put something more out there for our current and prospective listeners to really chew on. This is why we would very much like to release a limited edition (300 copy), 3- or 4-song, 7" record along with a digital download. And we need your help to raise funds to record, press, and design it!
If you're already familiar with our music, the tentative tracks to be included are: "All the Teenagers" (click the link to listen to a demo version!) + "Greenlands" (A side)/ "In the Hour of Fond Farewell" + A SECRET (B side). Doesn't that just sound sexy?
We think that the great thing about a vinyl record - and especially a 7" - is that it's a collector's item that you can play, a stylin' little piece of audio history...that you were a part of, no less. And since you get a digital download with each one, you get the best of both the analog and digital worlds. If you don't have a turntable, upload the digital version onto your computer or mp3 player of choice. Then feel free to hang the vinyl record on your wall...or follow the directions in the video above.
We hope that you enjoy our already-released material and that you are excited for the big things that we have in store. Thank you so much in advance for taking the time to read this and, hopefully, making a donation.
We love you,
Rob, Andrew, Amy, Gopal, Vincent, and Patrick
