Hey Everybody, my name is Rob, I'm a comedian and musician based in Brooklyn, NY. You might know me from the Pachelbel Rant; I've also been on Comedy Central and I had the distinct honor of opening several shows for George Carlin on his final tour. Right now I'm hard at work on my latest album of comic and satirical music–Keep Your Jazz Hand Strong!
I'm really excited for the new album, I'm proud of the material, and the tracks are sounding really good. I'm having fun dipping into different genres, from classic soul to my usual power-pop, and taking an occasional left turn for something more esoteric like a ragtime tune.
You can see a preview of some of the songs on YouTube, there's a live version of Creepy, Creepy Love, from Joe's Pub, and a low-tech, cardboard cutout puppet music video about celebutantes called I Poop Gold, to name two. You can also check out songs from my previous albums at my bandcamp site to get an idea of the kind of work I've done.
The new album will take it a step further, and this kickstarter campaign will support the album's mastering and CD manufacturing, as well as give you the opportunity to get some exclusive and unique stuff as our thanks for participating.
There are rewards for contributing as little as $5, and some fun stuff like a custom-written song for you or a 15-minute Skype concert for you and your friends.
Feel free to peruse the videos of my work, listen to some tracks from my previous records, or catch up with me online via my website, Facebook or twitter. If you have any questions or comments I'd be happy to hear them, and thanks for checking out my kickstarter campaign!
Risks and challenges
The biggest challenge will be getting the upstairs neighbor to shut the heck up long enough for me to get the vocal tracks done. I think I've figured out his work schedule though so I should be good.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
