Recent updates

It's been a long time since I've posted an update here on Kickstarter. I still want to publish this book, but it's become clear that I need to increase awareness of my comics before that can happen.

So I've been working on various ways to generate interest, and I'm ready to announce one of them: eBooks! Right now, I'm planning on releasing most of the comics from the book as eBooks. Unlike the planned print book, these eBooks will be mostly black and white (I have to save something for the book.)

There are a few of them available right now.

First off (and most exciting), Crazy Cal Gets A Job! is available for the Kindle for FREE! The free promotion only lasts through this Saturday August 24, so you'll have to act fast. After that, the price goes up to $2.99. You can get it at this link.

And Charlie Croc: Private Eye is also available for both Kindle and Comixology. The story is split into two parts. The Kindle version sells for $2.99 and the Comixology version for $.99

Part one on Amazon is here and on Comixology here.

Part two on Amazon is here and will be on Comixology here  (beginning Wednesday).

So please check the eBooks out. If you like them, please leave me a nice review or a good rating on the sites. And tell your friends. Thanks so much for your support.

Thank you

I want to thank you so much for all your support. I had the most generous backers I could have hoped for. 43 of you pledged to raise an 43% funding. (43 for 43%-- that seems appropriate.) And a few of you even increased your funding by $100 or more in the last day. For that, I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

But even with all your support, the funding was unsuccessful. It's a shame, because the book as I envisioned it would have been a beautiful product.

I'm not giving up. I'm going to take a little time to rethink my options. I have the book nearly complete but only partially colored. I would be a shame not to get it into print. It's just going to take a little longer.

Thank you so much for your support. I will continue using Kickstarter updates to keep you updated on the book, whatever I decide to do. And please continue to follow Crazy Cal and all my other comics at

Thanks again.

Finished Poster Art

We have 26 hours to go , and a ton of money left to raise. But it's not over yet. I've seen other Kickstarters raise $5000 or more in less than 24 hours. So we can certainly do it.

Kickstarter tells me that my video has been viewed 751 times. If even 1/3 of the people that have watched the video decide to come in and back the project in the last day, then we're totally set.

I want to show you the art for all 3 posters. I just completed the colors for the final one this morning. For those of you who are backing at the $35 or $60 levels, you'll have to choose between one of these. Or, you can upgrade your support and get all 3! I've tried to make each one unique, just as each story in the book is different.

Just remember, that the only way these posters or (more importantly) the book will get printed is if we reach the $7000 goal. So please tell your friends. And thanks again for all the support.

Cloud Castle Poster

As I type this, we have 48 hours left. We still have a long way to go, but it can still happen.

If you're still on the fence and need another incentive to back this project, allow me show you the uncolored poster for Quest for the Cloud Castle. This is one of the three posters available for backers. And if you're only getting the book, why not upgrade your support to include this or one of the other two posters. Or go all out and get all three.

Only a few days left!

There are only a few days left for this Kickstarter. It ends this Thursday at 4:59 PM Central Time. We have a lot to raise but it can still happen. I've seen other Kickstarters pull this off. So please tell all your friends.

And please let me know if you have any ideas that will make this book more appealing. I'm open to any suggestions in the last few days.
