New Tiers: The Thermodo Sets

A lot of you have been asking why there's no easy way to pledge for multiple Thermodos. The answer is quite clear, Kickstarter doesn't allow for multiple quantities of the same hardware reward. Kickstarter is understandably not a retail store, and we have every intention of staying within their guidelines. This means It'll be a good while before you'll be able to buy *several* Thermodos at once. However, so many of you have written us and asked about this, it seemed like we needed to come up with a solution. You have spouses that always ask you if it's too cold outside, friends in need of a cool gadget gift or simply just own several devices that could use a thermometer. Well we've worked with kickstarter to come up with a legit solution that solves this while not violating the guidelines. The answer is the Thermodo Sets. Three new tiers that allow you to pledge for both a regular Black or White Thermodo AND a Premium Thermodo. They're technically two different rewards and they make sense from a set perspective. Some of you might want to have, say, one on the tablet for the weather station at home and one on your phone when you're on the go. Well this is your chance. Here's the new set tier details.

Upgrade your existing pledge and rock one of these cool little sets today!

Note: If you already backed for a higher pledge amount that matches a set, we will honor this. At the end of the campaign we will send you a survey, where you can specify the amount and color you want.

      Yes, but if we don't reach 300.000... or kickstarters prefer other color...

      I think it would be very cool and easy to tell the production company something like ... For the 10.000 (kickstarters production) first put this mark... Or something.

      For me I would like to tell someone something like ..."I was a backer..."

      Anyway I hope we reach all levels!!!

      Sorry, the Premium can be Kickstarter Green.

    3. Creator Kim Togo Andersen on March 26, 2013

      @Celestino, Thermodo will be Kickstarter Green if we hit 300K

    4. Creator Kim Togo Andersen on March 26, 2013

      @Celestino, that should be very cool, perhaps just on the key ring a small circle of kickstarter green.

      Looking again to the project page I think that Kikstarter termodos should be "the limited kickstarter edition", in other words all of us that have contributed your project was sucssesfull would have a different version (a mark, logo,l etc.) than others who could buy this device after the project finish... I think this is a very nice way you to say thank you tu us, your project supporters...

      (sorry about my english)

      I know a few products that were funded and I backed recently that allowed you to add each for each additional one you wanted, those were this year and should start shipping soon. So I don't know why Kickstarter says you can't when I know for a fact at least 3 projects I backed all did this and they weren't shutdown or anything.

      Thanks for the quick reply. Says a lot in my book about Robocat.

      @Paul Gibson
      This should be possible. Just send you a message.

    9. Creator Paul Gibson on March 25, 2013

      Hmmm, I was kinda thinking of changing from a single standard to two of the premiums. Guess that would not work?

    10. Creator Robocat on March 25, 2013

      @griph
      Actually no. We already got working prototypes. All the images on the project page are pictures of the working 3D printed prototypes. What we are shown here are the working progress towards the final product design, this is allowed by Kickstarter. As this shows the development of the product. Yeah, it's fine line between prototypes and product renderings.

    11. Creator griph on March 25, 2013

      Kind of blew it on the "no photorealistic product renderings" one too huh? Strange rule... I'm sure Kickstarter has some justification (slash a bad experience).

    12. Creator Ross on March 25, 2013

      Change to set immediately~!

    13. Creator Kim Togo Andersen on March 25, 2013

      Rules are rules, Changed my pledge to Thermodo Set.
      Still hoping that the White will turn Red B-)

      Aslo in guidelines:
      Projects developing new hardware or products are also prohibited from using product simulations, photorealistic product renderings, and offering multiple/bulk quantities of the product as a reward.

      Set of Thermodos is what Kickstarter approved. Thats why we are offering this now.

    15. Creator Robocat on March 25, 2013

      According to the guidelines: http://www.kickstarter.com/help/guidelines
      - Single Serving. Projects in the Hardware and Product Design categories can only offer one reward per pledge. A reward consists of either one item or a set of items (e.g., salt and pepper shakers or building blocks). Offering a reward as a single quantity AND a set is not permitted.

      We asked Kickstarter about this, and this is what they approved. Not sure about this "bulk". We have to ask Kickstarter.

    16. Creator 0mie on March 25, 2013

      Why don't you guys do like every single other campaign where you just as $xx for each additional? ToS say you can't sell over 10 of each item to 1 person, unless that has changed recently. www.kickstarter.com/blog/bulk-quantities
