Album Update - October 2016

As it's now officially Autumn - a full two seasons since the album got funded - I thought I'd better do another quick update...

We now have rough mixes for all ten album tracks. Still got a few bits and bobs to record before proper mixing begins, but it's all coming together.

In addition to laying down all of our keyboard parts, we've also recorded live drums, guitars, a 50-piece choir; and incorporated a range of samples from artists such as Dev Hynes, Greg Osby, Sarah Jones (Hot Chip) & Jonathan 'Sugarfoot' Moffett (drummer for Michael Jackson).

Here are the names of the ten tracks (in no particular order):

  • Facsimile
  • NGC4945
  • All Rhetoric
  • (In a) Funk
  • Shade
  • Fake Friends
  • Fuchsia
  • Douche
  • Tongue Tied
  • Magic Cane (named by Kickstarter backer, Simone Albrigi)

Will try & post more updates soon. In the meantime, you can hear a preview of 'Fuchsia' in our new YouTube channel trailer below:

Also, we've been discussing the possibility of hosting some kind of listening party when (or just before) the album is eventually released. We'd need to look into costs, logistics, etc, but we're thinking it would potentially be in London... Is this something that people would be interested in coming along to, in theory? Let us know in the comments section.

Cheers,

Brett Domino.

Listening party would be awesome... and if it was streamed for those who can't make it.. even more ..weirdly wonderful.

Some sort of listening party sounds good. Will there be one of those cheese and pineapple hedgehogs? Happy to contribute towards the costs of party rings, pink wafers &c.
