Gang Up! is casual card game where you compete to become the ultimate crime lord! Recruit legendary gang members and commit crazy daring crimes. Use criminal influences and team up with other players to get ahead. And when they least expect it, backstab them to win the game!

Have you watched the rules? Then let's play Gang Up! This video will show the second half of a game; players are already more cautious, so they don't get stabbed in the back again.
THE BASIC RULES - OVERVIEW
To become the most powerful gang in the Crimetown - and win the game - you need to raise your status, from 5 to 20.
You can only play cards if your current status matches or exceeds the status-number on playable cards. This is the core-mechanic of the game.
You gain status by successfully committing crimes - how else? During your turn you can draw a blind card from the 'crime pile'. This card represents a criminal opportunity. Look at what you got; 'Safety Second'! If things go well, you can earn +4 status with this card....but if not, you lose -4 status. Will you take the risk?
To execute this crime you need both the required status & manpower as indicated on the card. Let's assume you have that status (in this case 16). Now you still need 5 members, for example a few of these goons:
But you don't have 5 members on the table? Well, time to ask another player to participate! But beware, now you both get the status points for this crime (+4)...so be sure to pick the right allies. Or just lay low 'til the next round.
To commit a successful crime, your members need to get out of there unharmed. But as soon as the crime is set in motion other players can get in your way, by playing special influence cards.
Even your partner in crime can turn on you! What is this world coming to when you can no longer trust a gangster on his word?!
In Gang Up! your gang members will defect, partners will backstab you and the police will throw part of your gang in the slammer. But the sharpest gang leader will be able to think ahead and counter this. Pick the right time to spring your trap and take the cannoli!
And there you have the basic ingredients of our game, but the real fun is in the details! As you might imagine, the 100 unique cards are designed to create lots of crazy situations & humoristic combos!
Also to keep the pace, you can discard cards from your hand to activate unique member-skills,
Or if you can't play members to the table, you may try to switch a big guy for a small fry from jail; the snitch-switch! You won't see the boss on the table soon, but it gets you moving again.
Additionally there are cards that will only benefit the gangs lagging behind and thus keep everyone close to victory! For example 'Coward Howard' will leave your gang when you have the highest status, and 'Undercover Jack' will arrest one of your members when you exceed 10 status and move (infiltrate) the next gang. This makes the situation very dynamic and you always have to watch your back to stay ahead!
Who are we?
Illustrator Robin Keijzer has been playing games since his early childhood. He was the lead-artist on the Xbox360/Playstation 3 title “Fairytale Fights” and since then has been working on his own comics. He also works as a gun for hire on celebrated games such as “Awesomenauts”. In his spare time he unleashes his sadistic side as a Dungeon Master on a group of Dungeon and Dragon friends.
Fellow gamer Paul van der Meer met Robin on “Fairytale Fights” where he worked on the cut scenes. Since then he has been designing serious games. In his spare time he makes comics, designs games and takes naps.
Why the kickstarter (relaunch)?
Kickstarter was a way for us to figure out if people would like our game. And when we got the support of 168 backers within 30 days it was very clear to us that this game has to be made!
Unfortunately we barely missed our goal last time, so we lowered our financial goal. We moved some ideas to the strech goals, hoping that this way we can still get the game to your table! But don't worry, we didn't cut in the quality!
Oviously we still need to finance our project; the gameplay is done, but illustrating over 100 unique cards takes a lot of time and printing them ain’t free. By backing us, you allow us to work on this project and get it out there!
What will we create & deliver?
We already have a 100% working prototype. If we meet our funding goal we will fully produce a boxed (physical) card game (see the Rewards below). And if we will meet our strech goals, we will add more to that as described next to those goals. We will get it printed and make sure all backers get what they pledged for!
Meanwhile we keep testing our game with whoever wants to play it! (Thanks for testing our game & thinking along to improve it!)

Extra Information regarding rewards/ pledges
1. If you would like to recieve multiple copies of the game, choose the 'game time!'-pledge and pledge €90 to recieve 5 copies of the game or pledge €180 to recieve 10 copies of the game -these options result in the most favorable shipping costs per copy.
2. About the "Famous Villain" + "Known Criminal" pledge: We happily list your name or someone elses' name here. Name limitations are: we will print nothing hateful, political or religious related. Max length; about 25 characters. When in doubt,please contact us before you pledge.
In case things go really well, and we exceed our goal, we can offer you even more cool extra card-rewards! These rewards stack again and are instantly added to the rewards of everyone who backed €20 or more when we exceed the amounts mentioned below.
And if your support is even bigger, we would like to create the following! The printed/physical artbook will instantly be added to the rewards of everyone who backed €80 or more when we exceed €12.000,- as mentioned below.

Risks and challenges
Risks and challenges
We are both 7th level game developers and making games is what we do. By now we extensively tested Gang Up! (concept art & gameplay) and have a working prototype. So the further asset-production should be without risk, it just takes a lot of time to complete. But because of your support we won't get our arms broken by loansharks - which helps a lot with drawing!
There are also expert money-printers...ehhh, cardgame-printers who print on demand. So you as a backer will certainly get your cards, so far so good!
The worst that can happen is that nobody cares about this game (let's hope not) and that we won't find a publisher who wants to professionally distribute this game around the world - because in the end that's really what we're looking for. But still, if we fail we can always sell the game from the street corners, right? 'Pssssst, wanna buy a card game?!'..
