This project has 2 goals in mind.
1. To tour, promote and release my new album in the USA/Australia/Europe.
2. To revolutionise the way I sell my music.
How the hell am I gonna do this!!? (READ ON)
In late 2015 I had a great opportunity to record my third album in Memphis TN with Musician and Producer Devon Allman. It was mixed and mastered by Grammy award winner Tom Hambridge (Buddy Guy, ZZ Top, BB King).
It was an expensive voyage and now I need to raise money to promote it!
1. USA ALBUM PROMO TOUR!
We have a 4 week tour in August 2016 crossing many states in the USA. My new friends Devon Allman and Andy McKee have invited me to open for them on their shows. My team and I will be organizing PR, radio performances, advertising and press interviews to coincide with the tour.
Europe and Australia dates to come later in the year.
Now for the exciting part......
2. REVOLUTIONIZING THE WAY I SELL MUSIC
Lets face it, CD's are an outdated technology not to mention they all end up in landfill. But in order for me to survive as an artist I realize I need to create an INCENTIVE for people to still buy my music ( If you're thinking "But I already support the artist when I stream the music, well, every time you stream a song it generates a whopping $.009 cents, do the maths, its simply not a live-able income unless you get 50 million streams annually).
(For those who still enjoy the CD they will be available, we will faze them out over time).
So I've come up with "The Scroll". The Scroll will be an oriental style wall hanging, roughly 15cm's x 20cm's. The unique design will be based on the Cover Art for the new album. With "The Scroll" purchase you receive a download card that allows you to go to my website, punch in the code and presto! You have a new album! So my customers not only get a banging new album but a unique piece of art to hang on their wall!
WHERE AM I GOING TO GET THE SCROLLS MADE!?!?
In coordination with a friend of mine in Indonesia who works with refugees , we are going to finance an arts crafts and textiles workshop for woman in the refugee community. So we get a scroll and they get financing to help create a self sustainable workshop. Win Win!
I'm very excited to try this new idea out with in conjunction with my new album, your support would mean the world to me and to everyone involved, please watch the video and thank you for your time!
Risks and challenges
The only risk I foresee in this project is with the manufacture of "The Scrolls".
It's always risky getting things made and sent from another country.
