WHO THE HECHT?!
My name is Robby Hecht and I'm a singer/songwriter living in Nashville, Tennessee. I've been writing songs since I was 18 and have been singing for as long as I can remember. Music is my life's work and passion.
WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH THIS THIRD ALBUM?
I was introduced to Nashville producer and musician Lex Price in 2007 and we hit it off right away. We recorded my first solo album Late Last Night in 2008 and it was such a wonderful experience that we got together again to record my second album, Last of the Long Days, that I released in 2011. When it came time to start planning for this new project, I didn't have to think twice about working with Lex again. I sent him demos of 37 potential songs, and after careful consideration, we've finally narrowed it down to the 12 that we will be recording for this album. He's excited, I'm excited, Bobe's excited, and hopefully you'll be excited as well!
As you all know, the state of the industry has changed drastically in the past decade and it's now become the norm to expect artists to invest in the creation of their music up front. This is why it has become so important for singer/songwriters like me to be able to rely on the support of listeners like you to help us finance music in the creative stage through pre-sales and patronage. As Kickstarter backers, you'll hear the music before anyone else, receive periodic updates and, most importantly, be part of the making of the record.
MAKING OF THE RECORD!
In order to be able to make this record, we're hoping to raise a minimum of $15,000 to help cover the basic costs. This money will go a long way in helping to pay for:
- Incredible Musicians
- First Class Production and Mixing
- Badass East Nashville Recording Studio
- Expert Engineer
- Rental of Sweet Recording Gear
I asked myself what resources I have that I can offer you for your help, and I've come up with everything you see on the right side of this page. Among these are:
- The new album (with your help!)
- A fully produced acoustic EP of six new songs that I made with Lex last year but never released
- My two solo albums Late Last Night and Last of the Long Days
- Super comfy new T-shirts
- The album I made with my band AllDay Radio in 2006 called "Best of Season One"
- Stylish stickers for your plastering pleasure
- All of the acoustic demos I made for Lex so he could hear the songs that will be on the new album
- A bunch of the acoustic demos I made for Lex of songs that did not make it onto this album
- Handwritten lyrics of my songs
- The services of my precocious friend Bobe Hectik
- Hanging out on Skype
- Recording your favorite songs upon request
- Private house concerts
- Personalized songs
- Two very special guitars
- My grand city of Nashville
SHARING IS CARING!
We only have 30 days to reach this $15,000 goal, so I greatly appreciate anything you can do to help spread the word, whether it's reposting on FACEBOOK and TWITTER, sending an EMAIL to your friends and family, mentioning it in your blog, renting billboards, driving around your town with a megaphone or just telling your friends about it when you see them.
In the event that we are able to surpass the initial goal, I've also made some stretch goals that will allow us to go beyond just making the record. If we can reach these goals, there will be additional items included in some of the thank you packages.
Stretch Goal #1 -- $20,000
With a budget of $20,000, I'll be able to pay for some of the other things associated with making a finished product including mastering, designing and pressing the CD. If we can hit this stretch goal, everyone at the $35 level and above will get an extra copy of the CD that you can give to someone you love!
Stretch Goal #2 -- $25,000
If we can get to $25,000, then we'll be able to get into helping pay for some of the fun stuff associated with releasing a new album like merchandise, radio and promotion (it'll keep me from having to hit the streets with a sign and a portable iPod dock). If we can hit this goal, then everyone at the $50 level and above will receive a thirst-quenching stainless steel Robby Hecht water bottle!
Stretch Goal #3 -- $30,000
I've got a bunch of friends who tell me I'd be a lot cooler if I had my album on vinyl. I think they're probably right and I could certainly use some more street cred. If we can hit $30,000, then I'll press a batch of old school LPs and everyone at the $100 level or above will receive a vinyl copy of the album! How else are you ever going to play the music backwards and hear the secret messages that Satan and I came up with just for you?
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for checking out my campaign -- if you missed it, don't forget to check out the video up top filmed and edited by the talented Korby Lenker and scripted by the sexy Annie Klaver Hecht for a very special message from our good friend Bobe Hectik. I can't wait to share my music with you!
Risks and challenges
In the event that we are unable to reach the minimum goal, then the project will not be funded, none of your credit cards will be charged, and none of the prizes will go out, but heck, let's not even go there-- I know we can do this!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
