We've plugged in some more of the systems into the game and its time to show them off. Here's video update #2!

      You keep showing good stuff. Very promising!
      I know it's early yet, but I'm a bit concerned about how the game-play will turn out. It seems many of these open-world survival games is just about running about and looting stuff. That's not enough to keep a player interested over time. I hope you have thought about that, and that you'll be careful about releasing any version before you have at least a partial solution to keep interest up. You know, first impression is very important, even if the users happen to be your backers.

      Lots of new details in this update! The random map generation is going to be a big deal. I'm not big on the "island" thing, but maybe you can eventually have transitional areas to new "islands" using the same character(s). I like the loot placement and the highlighting. Thank you for demonstrating the rotation!

      It is looking great. I do not want you to release it when it is not ready. I do however like dates when you think it maybe ready for early access beta. Could you tell me when you think that maybe? Also feel free to high ball the date.

      Have to say, the animations look really well polished - I hope it's indicative of the rest of the game's level of quality :)

      First destructible doors, now DENTS IN THE CARS! I wasn't wrong when I said you guys had a good taste. More things you can destroy/deform in the game the better! I wonder if the game will ever feature terrain scarring.

      Things are coming along! I also agree with the latest comments about "releasing when ready".

      Take your time - do it right. But keep us informed! Don't be afraid to tell us the truth with as much openness as possible.

      @Roam I totally agree with Christoph! Push the Beta/Alpha date back as far as you need to present something worth a Beta/Alpha.
      But please keep posting updates and news about changed time schedules.

      I can see that you guys are doing an excellent job on this game. Please, please, please don't release an alpha if the game is not yet ready. We've waited this long I'm sure we can all wait a little longer to play an awesome game! Thanks a lot for all the hardwork.

      A while back it was mentioned that the beta was turning into an alpha (not in the clearest of terms, though)

      I agree with Lokai: Don't worry about pushing the game back, a KS project which delivers on time would be a surprise, this is to be expected when you take on big projects for the first time.

      BUT! Please DO worry about keeping your backers informed. That you cannot deliver a playable game in January is not a surprise that popped up today. And even if you only realised today that the game would not be ready for your backers by the end of the day, where in the update does it say that you push the release back?

      The only mention is in a comment to the video update which at least half the backers (conservative estimate) will not read.

      A quick update two weeks ago just saying "We are very sorry, but we will have to push the alpha release back to [new estimate]. We are working hard on getting the game out of the door and will show you a few cool new systems in the coming video update" would be so much nicer. Of course those are not good news, but by saying nothing I get the impression that you hope we won't notice and therefore not be disappointed/angry. At least for me, the state of non-communication is much more frustrating than a delayed release.

      Thanks for the response whomever from the dev team. I had no idea you were going to connect all the tiles and make it all open like that, but that sounds fantastic and exciting. Everything you've shown, and just said, about vehicles seems pretty darn good and unique, so I hope that isn't' too tough to implement. Also great news about the sound system, I look forward to seeing it in action someday.

      On behalf of everyone asking about the alpha thank you for responding. Don't worry about pushing it back if it isn't going to work right now, just do keep updating everyone on everything and when that might be a possibility. That is all we could ask for. Looking forward to the next update!

      One last thing, I know I said alpha and everyone else said alpha, but what are we all talking about? Did I miss something in the tiers? Because none of them mention alpha, only beta.

      It's looking great. I don't know why seeing the working car surprised me, but I like what you have planned for it.

      The sad truth is that the alpha has to be pushed back a little. Technically we could give you all access to what we have here now, but there isnt really much gameplay until all the systems we have created are plugged in and working together. That being said we are really trying hard to get out out as soon as we can.

      @Lokai - The environments youve seen in the last two videos are strictly dev environments. Now that the tile system is created and set up, once I start plugging in the tiles you will see the world blow up in size. No more edge of the world "void". Vehicles will have more features that are not just transportation but also storage, looting their parts for basebuilding, and customizing them. The sound system will be plugged in along with the AI and stealth systems so that running/attacking/breaking down doors will alert nearby enemies.

      Loved the video update and I have a few comments. Are all of the areas going to be the same size as the one shown in this video (and the last video)? If so, how is a car useful in a space that can be crossed so very quickly in a vehicle? I really like the 3d rotation option as well as the highlighting inside buildings when stuff is just laying out. That part of the game doesn't need to be overly complicated or confusing and that system looks like it would work quite well. Seeing a lot of things that are reminding me of a lot of the good aspects of Project Zomboid, like windows/doors not always be locked and how they can both be broken. Hopefully, there is going to be a sound system like PZ too where if you break down doors or smash windows it will be fairly loud and that will alert any nearby zombies to your presence.

      Yeah exactly how far are you pushing back the alpha release? Game looks awesome every time I see a video I get more excited but don't keep us waiting much longer please!!!!

      Looking great, I'm extremely excited for this. I am digging the art style you have going on for things like the inventory, clock, etc. Has a great feeling to it.
