Base progression and play style

We are trying to design the game around many play styles. The purpose of the base is what the player makes of it. Some people may prefer to take the role of a lone survivor and set up multiple small camps around the world.

Others may dislike the nomad life and decide to create one giant fortress they call home.

Keep in mind that building up a well defended base takes time and energy as well as numerous resources. Teaming up with friends will make it much more efficient. Whatever your play style is, players will want to make use of the ability to defend themselves.

It isnt always necessary to build a grand fortress of a base. We want give reasonable freedom in the world of ROAM. There is no limit to how you take advantage of the base building system, you just have to be able to find the supplies.

      These screenshots remind me of Nox somehow. Maybe it's the shirt. Anyway, it's looking rather good! Let's just hope the gameplay turns out good and unique, because zombie/survival games are popping up all the time now.

      Barbed wire on the top of the blockade? Does that mean that at some point zombies will be able to climb up the blockades (or pile up to step one on another)? That is just SO AWESOME! :D

      I'm pretty sure there's going to be some pretty elaborate mazes that people build to keep the zombies out of the Minotaur center. Looking forward to playing around with this.

      Wow, this is looking great! Love the evergreens against the dry-grass, the recycled wood structure combining various ages of boards, the dirty plywood. You can easily see the love in there. Awesome stuff! Roll on! Thank you for the update!

      All the bases on your screenshots are in the wilderness, will you also be able to use surrounding buildings as walls etc?
