WHAT IS THIS?
"I’ve had the opportunity to lay my eerie eyeballs on Keepsakes, and it’s a damn fine terror tome featuring scintillatin’ stories illustrated by a small mob of talented creators, believe you me… and… you… will… believe!" - Daniel XIII, Horror Fuel
KEEPSAKES is a 24 page Black-and-White comic book, telling the story of two siblings who step into their late father's basement and find his collection of mysterious and horrifying items.
Each of those items comes with their own story- an SD card from a broken camera, a firefighter's uniform, a box of baseball caps, a folder full of receipts from a restaurant. As they encounter each item, we learn their story, and we get a sense of... what else could possibly be hidden down in their dad's basement.
WHO WROTE THIS?
Hi there, my name's Gregg. Now, I'm writing as "G.A. Alexander" but that's just pretentious writer stuff - YOU can call me Gregg.
Because we're friends.
Be ARE friends, right? I remember you said we were friends.
I'm glad you remember.
(I hope you remember what you did that night. I hope you remember the blood. Oh god the blood so much blood.)
Anyway, friend, I'm here to tell you all about my Kickstarter campaign for KEEPSAKES, a nasty little comic book here to scratch all the wrong itches. It's a collection of a number of little comic short stories I've written over the last year or so, and then had the bright idea of commissioning artists to realize.
Along with these stories, I also wrote a little wraparound tale - something not unlike some of the old Horror comics of yore, or the old anthology horror shows they used to show on SciFi when you were a kid - you know the ones. And to top it off, there's a little short story I wrote - entirely prose, which may tie into the events depicted in its own strange way...
WHO DREW THIS?

OKAY SO WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
I'm so very glad you asked, friend. Firstly, we have a digital pdf, to be delivered to you shortly after the campaign closes.
Secondly, we have three different versions of the comic - you can choose between the Vincent Van Hoof cover, or two special Kickstarter editions of the book: the Emilio Utrera full-color cover, and a black and white version of the same.
(am I the full color cover to myself oh god what if I am simply monochrome)
Please be aware that if I end up printing further copies of this after the campaign, they will NOT be the Kickstarter covers. Those are exclusive to this.
Along with that, we will also be including some mini posters of the cover art, some full-fledged wall posters of both the Vincent Van Hoof and Emilio Utrera color covers, trading cards.
Realistically speaking - this campaign has relatively few risks.
(unlike life which is a constant flow of physical and existential risk and plus i feel like i may have seen the monochrome version of myself, he smiled at me and was covered in blood, the blood from that night. he knows what we did)
The artists are paid, the art is delivered. The only remaining things to concern ourselves with is printing and shipping. Please be assured that should this campaign fund, I will take every step to make sure each copy gets to the right place.
(the right place not the wrong place not the wrong place everything here is wrong)
We're going to have a few of these!
$1,500.00 - Ad Free!
Okay, so one of the ways we can make small print runs affordable is by putting the printing company's ad on our books. I've decided not to do this for the Special and Premium Editions, but I will for the regular print edition. Once we hit $1,500, though? We can pretty much afford to take those off, so the regular editions will now have no printing company ads!
$3,000.00 - Trading Cards!
At $3,000 we'll be adding two trading cards, for the two different covers, to each of the physical editions.
Risks and challenges
Everything is done, formatted and ready to roll. I have a couple of different quotes from reputable printing companies (Ka-Blam and Comixwellspring), which both take around 2 weeks to fulfill.
While this is my first project, I don't expect much in the sense of delays aside from shipping.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
