New Co-op Video + NL Interview!

Hey guys!

In the current build, local co-op is now fully playable! While we are still sorting some things out, it's fairly close to what we have envisioned. The video demonstrates a 2-player co-op, but it already supports 4 players (one keyboard + 3 gamepads!) Not only that, but it has some sneak peaks of the new class!

But wait, there's more. A few days ago we had an interview with NorthernLion. Hear our discussion on the game, closed beta, ourselves, and more!

Stretch Goal #2!

Well shoot guys, you hit the stretch goal quickly!

While brainstorming stretch goals, we thought of a lot of gameplay changes that would be great in the game. Rather than making each one a separate gamemode, we decided to allow these 'mutations' to the game to be applied to all gamemodes! Inspired by skulls in Halo:

$15,000 - Game Mutators! By finding hidden mutators inside the game, you will unlock the option to customize the game as you see fit! Enable mutators like:

  • Double Spawn: While monsters will have 30% less health, they will now spawn twice as frequently.
  • Monster Affinity: Only one kind of monster can spawn, randomly chosen at the beginning of every level.
  • Top 1%: Every monster will spawn as an elite with elemental properties.
  • Shell Shock: Dropping below 50% health replaces all your items with another item from the same tier.

And many, many more! Thank you guys for supporting us so far; we never would have thought we would be adding stretch goals :-)

Stretch Goal #1

Due to popular request from backers, we have added stretch goals! We will post them one by one; as soon as one goal is hit, we will reveal the next!

Note that these stretch goals will be added post-release, in a free patch.

$10,000 - Arena Mode! Fight against incoming waves of randomized monsters, eventually leading to a slew of bosses. Items will be randomly distributed around the arena. Hitting certain rounds of the arena will also allow you to unlock a variety of content!

Since we are at ~$9000, I'm sure this stretch goal will be easily met!

Thank you to all the fans, and all the suggestions of stretch goals and how the best way to do them are. You guys are the best!

WOO! We have reached (and gone over) our target goal! Thank you so much guys, for all those who pledged and spread word about our game! It's still shocking to see that pledge amount whenever I load up the page. Thank you so much!

A big topic of discussion is that of stretch goals, and this is what we feel so far. There are a lot of cool options; different game modes would fit the game very well. However, we also don't want to over promise and over saturate the game; the amount of content planned in this game is humongous already.

I really do want to do Boss Attack and online multiplayer; these are all absolutely awesome. We have an awesome framework to add cool content.  We just don't know if we can add these in time for the deadline we set for our game. Maybe these can be added in the future?

At the moment, we are still undecided on stretch goals because we fear we couldn't complete them. We will update as soon as possible with our plans for the future.
