This is a KickStick™ brand Electric Skate Stick.
It is simply a motor at the end of a stick... that also folds up. Its powerful 2 horsepower motor unlocks:

DO NOT Use Electric Skate Sticks to ride in the street. Its a good way to end up in the Hall of Meat. Use a helmet and other gear for protection. WARNING! The dummies in the videos are trained professionals and none of those stunts or stunts like them should be attempted.

Risks and challenges
This is Rise Robotics' first direct-to-customer endeavor.
Coaches and advisors from many fields are here to spot pitfalls and prevent them. We have manufacturing expertise ready to assist us in delivering products.
We intend to deliver KickSticks by the end of 2017. In case product development moves more slowly than we anticipate, we have set our delivery date to 18 months after successfully reaching our crowdfunding goal. We hope to deliver much faster than that.
If it costs more than anticipated, we will give customers transparency into the choices we have as far as modifications to the product's specifications.
