Bluetooth Production + Voice Clarity Enhancements



There are several stages in producing Bluetooth capability and the photos below show some of these stages and necessary equipment. Installing software is required for the Bluetooth operation and we wanted to show our backers the process of software installation in the earbud. Check out the photo collage below!


As you may have read, we've been working hard to enhance the voice clarity of RippleBuds. We wanted to make a few videos that allow you to hear the progress we've made. Take a listen to the before and after videos below!

      I saw one of the comments about better demos out there and I found one.
      This more clearly demonstrates the product a while back before enhancements, but is still much better than the demo above:…

      Your demo speakers have very thick accents, or maybe the product is just not as good as I thought it was going to be. It sounds really muffled in both clips although the second clip is louder and slightly clearer.

      I cannot recognize anything the male demo voice is saying in either clip, and the female demo voice is barely recognizable. Some demos with native english speakers might gain my confidence back if it is an improvement.

      If the quality is really this poor (and it isn't the demo speaker's fault) I'll probably just ask for a refund, but I'm trying to remain optimistic here.

      For the sake of the product, please release clips with different demo speakers!

      Hey Guys, nice to get some technical updates, but what we all care is to receive a great quality product on time, there are several other products on the market now so please let us know when we can expect to receive this item otherwise I would make more sense to get a refund and purchase an alternative product. Please let me know what the refund process is so I can gear up for it.

      The improved quality is worse than the original. If this is the best it gets then refund me before the again delayed shipping. Poor investment at this point.

      Those sound examples sound horrible...the before is just bad. The after is just louder and most treble (hurts my ears)...

      To be honest this has just been ridiculous and very disappointing. I have ordered quite a few things from Kickstarter start ups and they at least had it together. Everything about this process has been frustrating. From changes in ship dates to just being able to get updates. How do you go about the refund process??? I've seen quite a few "wireless" earbuds and some have even started shipping already. I think I'd be more happy spending my money elsewhere. Sorry Ripplebuds but you dropped the ball on this one

      The samples sound good to me keep up the Work! ... Some people here do not get what is demonstrated here... take an inear recording as taken by the ripple and process it to be clearer for the person you are calling... it is not about music it is about getting understood on the other side of the Phone.

      I heard a significant reduction in the background hiss of the original recording.
      I would love to hear the after samples read by native English speakers - I think the accents impact the "quality" more than people realize.

      I am a professional Audio Engineer with 28 years of experience & I am HUGELY disappointed with the sound quality you have displayed here. Seriously... just LISTEN to it! You don't need my training or experience to know that the this audio is unintelligible.

      You have a huge amount of work to do in a very short period of time.

      This is not the final draft of Ripplebuds.
      Mono will begin to be shipped from October 15th, and Stereo will begin to be shipped from December 15th.

      I hope there will be more improvements. It didn't sound very clear to me. I would have to seriously strain to hear the person I was talking to. I would be concerned if the person on the other end would be able to hear me clearly. Maybe this is only the first rough draft? Needs MORE improvement.

      With respect, those enhanced recordings sounded terrible. I couldn't make out most of the words in either the male or female recordings.

      To be blunt: if this is the proposed final product, it's useless.

      Please revert every code change you did after 2016-04-20. Your update from April 20, 2016 contains a demo video with much much better sound quality than any of your 4 demos from this update. Also I think it would help to hear a native speaker speaking english.
      Btw will we (the users) be able to apply software updates? Or is the firmware flashed in the factory without possibility to update it?
      A fixed firmware would be a complete showstopper for me as it discriminates every early adopter.

      RippleBuds have a long way to go before the sound will be acceptable. I actually wonder if they can do it as that just sounds really really bad.

      Hopefully the audio improves more from these samples, particularly if we are delayed until mid October and mid December for shipments.

      For me, all 4 recordings sounded just plain awful. The choice of speakers definitely did not help. I have to wonder whether it was deliberate effort so as to produce an uproar from the backers, thus justifying more delays.

      either one sounds fine. just that person's English pronunciation is atrocious. plus ear wax WOULD for sure affect the quality also

      There is a difference between clarity and just reducing noise. The noise reduction seems to make it worse to listen to as it cuts of part of the outer bandwith of voice. It also sounds very digitized and overprocessed. I hope it can be clear and yet not sound like a whispering robot. Also, is this the from the speaker or to the mic? If i sound that clear on the other side, im good. But that seems too much processing for listening.

      Yes, I feel like both were difficult to understand. The before feels "darker", but some sounds, like "p" were very difficult to recognize as such. :(

      Maybe it's just me, but I found the enhanced voice samples, both female and male, to be harder to understand than the originals. It sounded very distorted/over processed
