3 Days Left to Help

Posted by Riley Dutton (Creator)

Over 1,000 backers and 500% funded in two weeks.

At this point, we really don't know what else to say other than "thank you". Your support and enthusiasm for this project continues to be the driving force behind it.

It's been amazing seeing podcasts, videos, tweets and more explode in the past fourteen days.  We've really enjoyed riding the wave and it's been an amazing incentive to keep working on improvements to Roll20.

As today is Friday, feel invited to suggest a "Follow Friday" #FF towards the @roll20app on Twitter, and continue tweeting up a storm about the Kickstarter in these last few days.  Beyond that, we're still hard at work on playing with features and readying things for the beta influx and intend to stay that way through Monday, when we'll touch base before the end of our fundraising campaign, so your help will be instrumental in continuing to spread the word.  Given that two weeks ago there were a half dozen people aware of this application, we're sure you'll continue to amaze us.

Our game has six players + GM who play from six different cities, four different timezones, and two different countries.

The browser-based "TWIDDLA" is what we use right now as our map-board but it is twitchy, awkward, and vulnerable to the random 'troller' who finds our 'room'. We also have to use Skype for our voice interaction and it gets rather tetchy when we have everyone online at once.

I have seriously examined some of the program-type gaming options, but that involves EVERYONE loading it to any machine they may be called on to use in their household. ...and if they have a problem? I am NOT what anyone would call skilled at tech support - more like good enough to know how much I don't know.

I am very much looking forward to the beta release - I expect this will be well worth the contribution. (Just wish I could afford the super-dooper-spiffy-cool level!)

Myself and a group of friends all play D&D online, but the current virtual tabletop solutions all have glaring problems; one of which is that I have to play tech support to people who have trouble installing or connecting. I'm banking on the browser-based solution fixing this issue. Also, it already seems quite feature-rich.

this is going to help with two of our campaigns over the summer, I can't wait to try out the beta. ^_^ (already getting music to load for my own)

My group all played back in college (long long ago) and now that we are spread across 3 cities we want something to let us keep playing. We've tried several options, which are acceptable, but this sounds really nice.

Agreed Cory... I tried WoTC most recently... and was left wanting. The ease of use that I saw in the video for this project? It had me salivating. Can't wait for the Beta so I can start to prepare for my first test drive with my group :D

Fantasy Grounds and WoTC should be quaking in their boots.

Seriously, I can't believe it took this long for someone to come up with a decent virtual tabletop. My group is chomping at the bit for the Beta!
