For the past year we have been developing Rightbread, a wheat-free, gluten-free, vegan bread that is high in protein, high in fiber, and very low in carbs.
People may be deterred from trying gluten-free and vegan products because they think it won't taste as good as the 'regular' thing. With Rightbread, every ingredient selected was used to make it taste and feel as close to bread as possible while being extremely nutritious. It is made using a unique gluten-free blend of Legumes, Beans, Ground Almonds, Oats, Milled Chia Seeds and Psyllium Husks.
Rightbread contains no eggs, no dairy, and no animal by-products which makes it completely vegan! Click here to learn more about Rightbread’s gluten-free and vegan ingredients. Our unique flour blend is Low in Carbs, High in Protein and Fiber, and packed with Calcium, Iron, Antioxidants and Omega-3s
What makes Rightbread taste so good?

We have made sure that all ingredients used in Rightbread are certified gluten-free. We have also conducted a gluten-test using the EZ Gluten Test Kit, developed by ELISA Technologies. This test is able to detect levels of gluten as low as 10 ppm. See below for our test results:
*Nutritional information is an approximate calculation based on the ingredients used in our current recipe*
Although we don’t use peanuts, some individuals who have a sensitivity to them, may also in limited cases, experience sensitivity to the legume flours we use.
How Rightbread Came to be
Growing up with gluten-free and vegan family members, Neil (one of the creators of Rightbread) was aware of the many foods they couldn’t eat, one of which was bread. There are gluten-free breads but finding ones that taste good is hard and vegan breads are difficult to come by altogether. The idea for Rightbread came from wanting to make a bread that was accessible to everyone.
After months of research and countless recipes later, we arrived at a recipe that was not only vegan and gluten-free but both extremely nutritious and VERY tasty. We gave it out to our family and friends and they encouraged us to share Rightbread with our community. We realized that Rightbread was a product a lot of people were looking for which brought us to you, Kickstarter!
What We Hope to Accomplish
The $20,000 raised from our campaign will be used to fund and produce our first batch of Rightbread. Because it is gluten-free and vegan, which requires uncontaminated equipment to make, Rightbread cannot be produced in regular bakeries. Our hope is that one day we will raise enough money to open our very own vegan and gluten-free baking facility.
Neil Grewal came up with the idea for Rightbread after travelling abroad and seeing the variety of healthy foods out there. In his final year of university, Neil started talking with many bakers, nutritionists, dieticians, health professionals and so on to understand more on bread. His goal was to give his family and friends a nutritious gluten-free and vegan bread that actually tasted great. Aris Saha and Jason Duong, both big supporters of Rightbread, joined the team to help Neil maximize the nutritious elements of the bread. Without their knowledge on the nutritional properties of all ingredients and how they mix, Rightbread would never have come to be.
We are a small team with a big idea. We have worked with many local bakers and nutritionists over the past year trying out many different ingredients and recipes before we came up with the right mix for everyone. As far as we know Rightbread is the most innovative bread on the market. We’ve worked closely with our partners for the last year to overcome any and all hurdles along the way, yet we know there are still more to come. We will do our best to remain as transparent as possible and inform our backers of any challenges or delays we may face, which include:
Ship date: We have built in extra time for the manufacturing process and are confident we will ship by the projected dates. Delays are possible and there is always a chance things will take longer than originally planned. We will make sure to keep you up to date and inform you of any changes that occur.
Product changes: As we refine our recipe with the constant feedback we receive, more versions of Rightbread will be tested and slight changes may be made. Don’t you worry though. The only changes made will be to make it healthier and taste even better!
Supplier coordination: We work with a variety of suppliers to get the best ingredients and to ensure Rightbread is developed properly. With many different suppliers there will be challenges, but we will make sure that nothing affects the price or quality of your Rightbread loaf.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
For any pledges in Canada & USA, shipping is FREE. If you are ordering outside of these countries please add indicated amount to your total pledge.
All loaves come pre-sliced - and without end pieces!
Each loaf of Rightbread is composed of 20 slices.
Rightbread is best stored refrigerated or frozen which greatly extends it’s quality and life. In ambient environments Rightbread can stay fresh for 7 days, refrigerated: 2 weeks, and frozen: 5 Months. This product is still in development and we are looking to continuously improve shelf-life in the near future.
In order to ensure that your bread is delivered fresh we will priority ship your loaves the day they come out of the oven. We also use active packaging to remove excess oxygen, to ensure your bread keeps its texture during shipping!
We have done our best to make a product that is healthy and accessible, but with diminishing funds and a small team - we are limited in what we can do. Fortunately, the bread is still in it's early development stages and we are working daily towards a better product.
Soy: We are currently working with our supplier to acquire non-GMO soy but in our current test batch we use gluten-free soy.
Sweeteners: A small amount of Sucralose is present, in some of our ingredients used.
Sodium: Rightbread's has about the same amount of sodium as regular breads on the market, but we are working on reducing the sodium content.
If we reach or surpass our funding goal, we are dedicated towards finding only the best gluten-free, vegan, and allergy-free ingredients. Our ultimate goal is to make Rightbread accessible to as many people as possible.
That would be a dream come true. If we are fully funded we will do our best to take Rightbread to distributors and make it widely available. At this stage we can't say for sure on our retail price but we plan to be very competitively priced verses other leading gluten-free and speciality breads on the market.
