About this project
My name is Rick. I'm a Graphic Designer based in Richmond, Virginia. As a designer, my main passions are UI/UX design, but I also enjoy illustration in my spare time. I received formal training for design, but illustration is mostly a self-taught skill. Most of my illustration projects are based around video games, youtube videos, and cartoons.
I recently started freelancing again after working at a software company for most of 2012. Most of my client work consists of Branding/Identity or webdesign, so it's not often I get to peruse a illustration project. After I read Execute, I was inspired to create illustrations and quickly ship them to the public.
At first I struggled to find a subject matter that I wanted to illustrate. I ultimately decided on some of my favorite comic heroes. Since that was already in my wheelhouse, so to speak, I decided to try a style that I hadn't perfected. So I spent a week creating these posters in a minimalist style, The midnight oil was burned, and many a Redbull was consumed.
With kickstarters help I would love to print these posters.
Risks and challenges
As the artwork is already completed and ready for print, my only concern is shipping and fulfillment. I've reached out to other successful kickstarter projects for advice, and I've spoken to several fulfillment companies (in the event the project blows up and I have to ship thousands of posters). Based on their reccomendations I feel confident that I could ship the posters by late May, but I gave myself another month to account for any unforeseen challenges or errors.
I've backed 10+ projects on kickstarter, so I understand the need for creators to communicate with their backers. I plan to use the kickstarter update section frequently, and I will post updates & answer questions on my tumblr page rickymetz.tumblr.comLearn about accountability on Kickstarter
Have a question? If the info above doesn't help, you can ask the project creator directly.
