We are seeking help with funding this project from our friends, fans and members of the general public to create, publish and market The Rick Parker Sketchbook (Volume I) .
Rick Parker is an internationally-known cartoonist and humor writer* whose artwork and illustrations have been featured in graphic novels, newspapers, magazines, on National Public Radio and television and in millions of comic books worldwide.
He is primarily known for his work as the artist of Beavis and Butt-Head comic book and other Marvel Comics titles. He has a B.F.A. in Drawing and Painting from the University of Georgia and an M.F.A. in Printmaking from Pratt Institute. He has taught drawing at The Maine College of Art and is one of the artists of The Illustration Institute, headquartered in Maine. His work has been displayed in galleries and museums in New York City and elsewhere and is the collections of Columbia University in New York City and The Billy Ireland Cartoon Museum in Columbus, Ohio.
The several hundred drawings which will appear in the 90-page sketchbook have been carefully selected from an archive of thousands of his sketches and are intended to be both funny and entertaining as well as being of educational value to aspiring cartoonists.
He is being assisted in the production of this sketchbook by his friend, Mort Todd, former editor at Cracked Magazine and Marvel Comics, who also wrote the foreword.
