And now the film is ready for final edit, musical mix, and a few other areas of post production including making a new master with added music and a sharper image. As you view our movie trailer, you will be seeing the rough work print footage, the image and music is in work print form, meaning the image, and sound has not yet been through final editing. The ongoing plan, To finish this film, then step 2, (in the next campaign) to produce the trailer for Part Two of the story, and our next western: “Ride the Wanted Trail” and then step 3, to produce the second film. But, for now, let’s finish this film.
About: Description - a true vintage western - The Shooting Story of the Kane Brothers is a beautiful old time family western movie, shot in the style of films of the 1930's—black and white, with heroes, bad guys, action, shootouts, and a love story. It has all the look and flavor of such films as early Lone Ranger, and The Big Trail, with big hats, and the characters are much like Tom Mix, or early John Wayne, and the big shootout scene that arrives at the end of the story is everything a western fan could want. The plot has warm and heart felt tones, rough and tumble action, a man of few words lead, an Andy Devine kind of sidekick, and a very mean and nasty villain. All with a sweet look and feel of the old western classics that gives the viewer a genuine example of old time film making. Authentically filmed on 16 mm, just like they did it in the 30’s, it is not only a good film, but a tribute to the old time western movie. "A genuine adventure from the days of yesteryear".
The original vision of the writer/director: The idea was to make a western like the ones I grew up watching as a child. We gazed at our small TV screens rooting for our heroes, like Cooper and Wayne, and characters like Hoppy, and the Lone Ranger. Stories with distinct good guys, and bad guys. The good guys fought for what was right, and kids could look up to these characters. I wanted to make a film that I would be proud of. With that in mind, I wrote the script, gathered my family and film making friends, and I said to myself, (if William S. Hart could do it, so can I). We raised the necessary funds for production, and began the movie. After filming, I screened the picture at the Western film festival in Simi Valley, CA. After the screening, my crew and I were invited to the awards event in Hollywood from the Southern California Motion Picture Council. The film (even in its rough cut stage) won 12 awards, and was featured on television on Entertainment Tonight.
What we will do with the funds:
We will complete all editing, post production, and sound mixing, complete digital edit, generate crisp & clean image master, in studio recording for added music, maintain the movie webpage, produce first group of DVDs, set up online independent sales and distribution site for this film, and market the film. Plus seek all world wide distribution areas.
We will include you on the ride with updates, and news, and new videos of our progress. Keep checking for ongoing news. We want you to be part of our western film making family, as It is our goal to produce more westerns, and we want to keep you informed.
Genre: Western, black and white, action drama, fiction, made in the style of films of the 1930's, and 40's – a vintage movie.
Story Outline: It is 1887, the old west, in a small town. The Kane brothers (Gabe and Luke Kane) are the town sheriffs, who work hard to keep the peace. Gabe falls in love with a girl (Ann Keegon), who goes against her father's orders to stay away from Gabe, and the two plan to marry. Ann's father (Bill Keegon) is outraged, and has Gabe beaten, but Gabe and Ann will not let anything stand in their way. When Keegon's son kills a man during a hold up, Gabe must choose between his duty and his feelings for Ann, and he brings Ann's brother to jail for murder. This creates bad blood between the Kanes and Keegon, owner of the Bar-K ranch. Keegon, being a man who always gets what he wants, even going outside the law to do it, brings all his Bar-K gunmen in for the showdown. Gabe and Luke are now in a fight for justice, and a fight that will test all they are made of. The Kane brothers, and their father John walk alone in the street. The town is still. Three men step into the old corral to face the wrath of the Bar-K, 21 men who are there for one reason only: to gun down the Kanes. They all stand quietly, the wind blows slightly. For a moment all is silent as the wind stops, and the last sound they might ever hear is the clicking of their guns.
What this film does not have: CGI explosions, a story that has no moral value, graphic violence or explicit sex scenes. "We don't need it". What this film does have: Real western action, a warm and exciting story, classic characters with traditional values, real and impressive western stunts, no bad language, and an interesting plot that you can watch with your whole family

For categories ranging from performances for the leading and supporting cast, to costuming and editing, and the three highest awards: the Bronze and Silver Awards for production and original musical score, and the Golden Halo for direction, original screenplay, and artistic achievement. Risks and challenges
The risks and challenges that come with completing a project is something that every film maker must consider, and I have thought about these things, and have made many back up plans to deal with them. I have made sure not to (over extend myself), and have put in place all of the needed elements to complete my film. I see two risks that stand out, first Q : Can I complete my film on the funds I am trying to raise?
A: Yes, I have my own edit equip. and elements needed to do it, and I am doing all my own work, so I do not need to depend on others to produce the work, so, it will be completed.
Q number 2 : Can I get all of the rewards I have listed, to my backers?
A : Yes, I have made sure that I have added into the goal amount, the needed funds to create and send all items.
Have a question? If the info above doesn't help, you can ask the project creator directly.
