With love & blessings,
Musical history was made on Friday, November 16, 2018 at the iconic & legendary music venue The Troubadour in West Hollywood, California. On the heels of POCO's 50th anniversary, founding member Richie Furay and his longtime band along with special guest, former POCO member and current Eagles bass player, Timothy B. Schmit, performed the POCO DeLIVErin' album in its entirety. With an introduction by Cameron Crowe(read by Timothy B. Schmit) and an award presentation by Peter Asher, Richie's first set contained songs from his other well known band -Buffalo Springfield- along with his notable solo material as well. In attendance that evening was also former POCO and Eagles bassist Randy Meisner. Randy said, "It is so good to see Richie tonight. We made history 50 years ago and Richie's doing it again".
My name is David Stone and I am Richie Furay's manager. I have created this Kickstarter campaign along with Richie and co-producer Denny Klein to raise funds for the completion of this video & audio release to all of Richie's fans and beyond. Included in this concert film is not only the entire performance of this historic evening, but also interviews with some musical legends. As a lifelong loyal fan of Richie's, a friend & concert promoter of his for many years, and his manager for the last few years, I continue to love the music Richie has made with Buffalo Springfield, Poco, Souther-Hillman-Furay, and solo projects. I witnessed along with our co-producer Denny, a sold-out Troubadour concert filled with fan excitement and anticipation of Richie's performance recreating the POCO DeLIVErin' album in its entirety. Richie and his band, along with guest performers exceeded expectations and achieved a night of music that surpassed the original POCO recording as observed by many audience members. Note for note, Richie's voice remains rich and full as he sings with his trademark distinctive vocals that is every bit as good as 50 years ago. With no less than 6 accomplished musicians backing him, the sound was perfectly blended with the addition of pedal steel guitar, dobro, banjo, Hammond organ, piano, and soaring vocal harmonies. Richie demonstrated that he is still at the top of his game with creating and performing music today.
"Richie Furay has long been at the forefront of musical history with work that lasts through the ages. From Buffalo Springfield and POCO to SHF Band, and his wonderful solo work, there are few who capture the soul and the beauty of what makes music matter like Richie Furay. His early work with POCO has never dimmed in its depth, exuberance and passion. The magic of his performance culminates with this generous return to an important early stage". - CAMERON CROWE

POCO came together in Laurel Canyon during the late 1960's after the breakup of Buffalo Springfield with its leader Richie Furay along with Jim Messina(Loggins & Messina)as guitarist and producer. Poco was the pioneering Country-Rock group that had tremendous influence beyond their own success, most notably inspiring the early sound of the EAGLES.
Randy Meisner was the original bass player in POCO, He left the group after the recording of their debut album and helped form the Eagles with Glenn Frey & Don Henley. Meisner is best known for his lead vocal on the Eagles song, "Take It To The Limit".
Timothy B. Schmit replaced Randy Meisner in POCO, and eventually replaced him a second time in the Eagles after Meisner's departure. Schmit went on to score the hit song for the Eagles, "I Can't Tell You Why".
Cameron Crowe is the Hollywood director, producer, and screenwriter behind such quintessential films as Fast Times At Ridgemont High, Jerry McGuire, and the classic autobiographical rock fable Almost Famous. Crowe's first job at age 15 was with Rolling Stone as a journalist. His first assignment was interviewing Richie Furay and his band Poco.
Peter Asher is half of the british pop duo Peter & Gordon with their huge hit "A World Without Love" that was written by Paul McCartney. Asher went on to become record producer & manager for both Linda Ronstadt and James Taylor.
